3rd Annual NJ Strong Get Together

Hello all,

Our 3rd Annual NJ Strong Wx get together will be on Sunday, June 14th. The location will be a to be determined restaurant & bar in Point Pleasant, NJ at 12:00pm. Here is our current thinking:

Plan A: If the weather is nice & warm we'll choose a place on or near the boardwalk such as Jenkinson's or The Offshore. Jenks does not take a reservation so we'll decide which place depending on how many people commit to going.

Plan B: If it's overcast, rainy, or cool we'll go to Frankie's which is a popular local restaurant & bar in Point Pleasant just a little further inland.

Please give us a yes, no, or maybe for now so we can get a head count. If you're a "maybe" we would like to know by May 22nd so we can finalize reservations with the restaurant. If you can't commit before May 22nd - that's fine - just let us know as soon as possible.

My suggestion is to make a day out of it with family! If the weather is nice, the beach and boardwalk will be a fun time.

Lots of folks reside in NNJ...time to take a ride down the Garden State Very Happy

Sounds good Frank their are many options down this way that are close to the beach or right around the area. Not sure what everyone take is but it is a happening time of year. So getting close to the boardwalk and paying to park are both things to consider.

Either way it will be a great time can't wait I finally get to meet everyone and talk about my experience with Sandy since will be in the town 8 work for lol

Frank I think my wife and daughter may make a trip of this as I have never been down there. Is thios going to be in a child friendly place or would you prefer to not have a terrible 2 with the crew lol. Hey that rhymes.

Oh shucks, I'm going to have to behave.... just kidding. Since we are doing it during the day, if she gets fussy, your wife and daughter can go to the boardwalk. Great family place.

I see that Sroc4 is the only one from the Queens/Long Island region set to go.

I am not sure if I can come at this point. It may happen if others from the region (especially James (syosnow94)) can go but for now I cannot give you a yay or nay.

If it helps Mike, there is a train that goes down to Point Pleasant. NJT New Jersey Coast Line.

Yes I believe you will switch in long branch nj and then continue to point pleasant beach. The train station in the beach is approx. 4to5 blocks from boardwalk not a bad walk at all. Their are many places to meet we have martells and jenkinsons but those will be crowded with the summer tourist. right off boardwalk we have some restaurant/bar such as Broadway Bar and Grill, Offshore. In town their are more The Spot,Frankies,Marlins, ect.. If people are going to spend the day maybe its best to be close to boardwalk and beach. just a suggestion Smile

I think we were leaning towards the Offshore or Jenks. It is still early in the season so it might not be too crowded.

I know their was mention of those two I was just putting some other places out their. If it's nice day like we all hope it will be in full swing their the weekends now are even busy. The biggest thing will be the parking if we go up on the boardwalk. I'm super excited I missed out on the first two meet ups and this one is in my backyard lol

I haven't responded because my son and daughter's weekends are real busy with gymnastics and soccer. I'll be a last minute yes/no. If I come I'll bring the family.
