Seems like the atmosphere is destabilizing pretty well cape is up, but low shear. Any storms will probably be hail or gusty winds if anything. Heavy rain looks to be our biggest threat or blessing however you see it. Thing with rain thats too heavy is it just runs off and doesnt do much good.

Jeeze huge cell blew up literally JUST north of here can't be even 5 miles, dark sky to the north of me sun into NYC.

Seriously Frank, and that cluster literally skirted just north of me, if I went for a 10 min drive up the road i'd be under the thick of it. More developing to the south near city.

There's a lot of energy off to the west. It's going to take until late tomorrow before it all moves out. While I still think 1-2 inches of rain will be the mean precip to fall, those stuck under training t-storms could receive up to 4 inches of rain. Hopefully your area is the lucky zone....

WOW what a lightning show been seeing cloud to ground strikes out window sometimes 2-3 at same time in a row across sky. Still holding out on rain.

Get set for the chill everybody. Before the rain started it was a muggy 74 here two hours ago. Now it's 57 we turned off the air closed all the windows and put on the sweats and sweatshirts. Love it.
