Re: June 2015 Obs and Discussion
Dayumm hadn't looked at rdar in a while thats a beastly amount of heavy rain with dbz soundings pushing 40-50! I think some plays may see localized much more than 2 inches. And its been intensifying.

Tornado warning down south of DC, wow this system means business, and many flood warnings and svr tstorm warnings. Some areas in PA and maryland exceeding 3 inches already, its not moving as fast as was projected looks like.

Re: June 2015 Obs and Discussion
.21" - Really Bill??? Juno part deuce. Sticky out there and I am telling ya'll watch out for Tuesday - 90* temps, high humidity and big time instability for our area.
NRN APPALACHIAN MTNS/MID-ATLANTIC/NEW ENGLAND...
AN UPPER-LEVEL TROUGH IS FORECAST TO MOVE EWD INTO NERN STATES ON
TUESDAY AS A COLD FRONT ADVANCES EWD FROM THE LOWER GREAT LAKES INTO
THE NRN APPALACHIAN MTNS. THE EXIT REGION OF A 60 TO 80 KT MID-LEVEL
JET IS FORECAST TO OVERSPREAD NY AND NEW ENGLAND DURING THE EARLY
AFTERNOON. THIS WILL CREATE STRONG DEEP-LAYER SHEAR PROFILES THAT
COULD BE FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE STORMS AS SFC TEMPS WARM UP DURING THE
DAY. THE MODELS SUGGEST THAT CONVECTION MAY BE ONGOING ALONG THE
FRONT AT THE START OF THE PERIOD WITH AN MCS MOVING QUICKLY EWD
ACROSS THE REGION DURING THE LATE MORNING AND EARLY AFTERNOON. AHEAD
OF THE FRONT...A MOIST AIRMASS SHOULD BE IN PLACE WITH MODERATE
INSTABILITY DEVELOPING BY MIDDAY. THIS COMBINED WITH FOCUSED
LARGE-SCALE ASCENT AND STRONG DEEP-LAYER SHEAR MAY ENABLE
THUNDERSTORMS THAT DEVELOP ALONG THE FRONT TO HAVE A WIND DAMAGE
THREAT DURING THE EARLY TO MID AFTERNOON.

Re: June 2015 Obs and Discussion
even though Tuesday looks ripe for severe t/storms todays models show very little rain, some even dry. looks like most of the action will be to our north.

Thanks, Al...you too!
Didn't realize we start to lose daylight a bit more each night.Gets really apparent early August.
Cleared up, nice and sunny but humid.

Re: June 2015 Obs and Discussion
Fathers Day turned out better than feared, at least precip and sunshine wise.
Hit 90* today, 2nd time.
JFK got its 1st 90*. Newark and I think LGA reached 90*
CPK still at 0..probably due to the usual vegetation issues around the ASOS there. I think you need widespread mid 90s to hit 90 at the park

Re: June 2015 Obs and Discussion
I mean the trees were being blown by very gusty winds not falling. Didn't look strong enough for that.
