Frank the ensembles have the rain further nw than the Euro op. My area desperately needs the rain. I like your call of .5-1" with 1.5" lollipops.

That would put them in line with the GFS. Interesting that the GFS has a pretty nice ridge spike in the west. Kind of a Rex Block with the tropical disturbance off Baja but it's not technically one. The ridges does help to interact both "troughs" over the east. You can see the dip in heights in the southeast and again over the Great Lakes. Orientation would argue for GFS and EURO ENS to be correct, but with these systems seemingly getting drier as the day gets closer I'm going to stay with the .50-1.00 call for now

Since mid Aug or so Central Park has been keeping pace with LGA & EWR, sometimes warmer than those sites. A typical summer cool bias is gone, its must really be bone dry there. Vegetation and its evapotranspiration etc isn't much of a factor anymore.

You know what sucks? The heaviest rain is now forecasted to stay N&W of our area. Northeast PA and central NY will see the heaviest tomorrow night. We'll still get rain, probably near an inch or less, but would have been nice to get the soaker.

The heaviest precipitation is expected to be N&W of the surface low because that's where all the H5 energy is.
