I think he suffered some kind of emotional trauma watching Dorothy in Kansas on the yellow brick road when he was a kid.

The way I see it it's no different than your obsession with the white gold. And I am def going bold for CPK snow totals this year. told ya

HEY! thants not polite, first off I have not posted any long range fantasy wind maps since a while back. I started posting right around when Frank did. Wind just fascinates me, its fun to be out in and I cannot explain it, I am a therapist basically and there is no weather diagnosis LOL. It is what it is, nothing I can do to change that, All in it for the snow too.

Thank You sroc, and I plan to quell my wind fantasy maps and if I must post it in banter. But I realize over the years those maps nearly never pan out. When we do not expect it then we get a wind storm lol, and make no mistake once we get into the cold I will be as weenie as you all are with the white. Add the wind and I will keel over lol

it is certainly going to feel spring like for the first part of nov. and if the euro seasonal for dec. is correct spring like weather may last into dec as well. looks like we may have a repeat of last year with the slow start to winter. at least this year the expectations are not as high as last year.

it is very frustrating for me to see where the AO and NAO are heading. after being mostly neg from july 1st through the end of October and not more than one SD when positive, we will now see the AO go+4 SD and the NAO +2 SD in November. it seems like we cannot get these two to fall into our favor for the last several winters. My my my, at 11:30 pm today, Thursday,  here in northern Orange County, the sky grew dark suddenly and wind blew to hell and back with some gusts probably about 35 mph for a few minutes and leaves went a-flying. Then it poured a bit.  But...last night when I walked the puppy about 2:45 am and then went back to bed, I can tell you that at 3 am the sky really opened and some of the hardest rain came. I saw some openings in the clouds at 2:45 am and the cloud cover was flying from SW to NE...some of the fastest moving clouds I have seen.  So I was surprised to see the openings and the speed of the clouds but I was even more surprised to see the heavy, heavy rain that came 15 minutes later.  I thought I was in Hawaii.  From my measurements, we got about 3 inches, maybe just a bit more.

I think we should all relocate to Hawaii.

The wind is howling quite loudly here at my house today.

Mother Nature will pay us back for this warmth come winter - you watch but as I said to my coworkers - Indian Summer ALWAYS has to happen around here. Lets get this out of our system now like Al said and we move on from there.

It's going to be awhile. Arctic and Atlantic oscillations not in our favor.
