If this took Sandy's track as frank alluded to on the previous page the Jersey Shore, NY Harbor area and LI Beaches would have been wiped out from where he would make landfall North. SICK!!!

I think this is the best example of synoptic-scale HCRs (horizontal convective rolls) that I have ever seen. Unfortunately, it's coming at the expense of danger to lives and a lot of money lost in damages:

54* partly cloudy and calm here and finally got to see sunshine again today. I almost forgot what that was like. And to think, four days ago I was buying bottled water thinking I'd have heavy rain and 50 mph winds right now. Glad this one went out to sea.

45*/63* split yesterday - beautiful fal weather!!

And this about this weeknd -

According to Upton, don't even bother looking at other guidance for Fri/Sat

THERE ARE DIFFERENCES IN THE MODELS FOR THE SYSTEM FORECAST TO
IMPACT THE AREA FROM FRIDAY INTO POSSIBLY THE FIRST PART OF THE
WEEKEND. BASED ON ITS RECENT STELLAR PERFORMANCE...ITS HISTORICAL
TRACK RECORD...AND THAT IT HAS BEEN INDICATING A SECONDARY LOW
DEVELOPING OFF THE MID ATLANTIC COAST FOR AT LEAST 4 MODEL CYCLES
NOW...
HAVE GENERALLY FAVORED THE ECMWF FROM FRIDAY-SATURDAY NIGHT.

Didn't we get burned this past winter by this? Just sayin' here!

Ha mugs, but the Euro was spot on with Joaquin, they probably still reeling from that good forecast. Could we have our first noreaster this weekend, or would it just be a rain storm? All summer long no Sat with rain now suddenly when I need my Sat mornings dry its raining lol.
