not if you look at it as updating the stock you need to have each winter...you are just preparing for winter not any storm in particular!! that's how I look at it each year..my garage has our shovels, broom shovel, and magnesium chloride moved to the front and ready to go...Smile

For my two cents, you are not buying for this year. It you couch it as a purchase for next year it can not be a jinx for this year. It can only help because you are planing on no snow this winter. The snow gods will forget what you did today with respect to next year. Especially if you can find an acceptable sacrifice.

I still have not recovered from the cruel knockout blow from Juno. i think the name was juno. 2 Inches of snow under a blizzard warning. Devastating. I'm fearful of following anything. The name was just too damn close to the hot month of June. Too damn close. Let's hope the next storm is named "Februo".

Allright Grselig, I love your circuitous reasoning here, you must be a part of the Law Firm of Dewey, Cheatam and Howe,LOL!

As CP said, if there is no snow in 4 weeks then Frank638's acceptable sacrifice will be to flush that rock salt cup by cup down the toilet.

A nightmare for us N and W folks.I had about an inch and a half. There was a force field over the Hudson River like the Martians used in the original "War of the Worlds" movie in 1953, and only a few flakes got west of it.

That explains why there were so may UFO sightings last year. Let's hope they moved to New England.

Not to be a Debbie Downer or anything, but does anyone else have a bad feeling that despite a rediculous set up for big storms we are not going to see anything substantial this winter?

That would be a reasonable solution. Interesting you said that. In my past life, after law school (I am not practicing) I interviewed with them. Classy folk. Dewy and Cheatam took me out to a very nice NYC restaurant. Funny how I ended up paying for the meal and I swear that when I walked in there I had a $200 in my pocket, but when we left I only had a $20 bill. Still good People them Dewy guys are. [/i]
