Chances of snow during the 1st week of April are dwindling thanks to suppression =(

The cold won't even last. It'll be a quick 2 day blast. Time to move on.

It will be an impressive cold shot with maybe some snow squalls. It sucks that we will be wasting it.

Re: Wx Banter Thread 2.0
The whole winters been a waste, why should those couple of days be any different.
As Frank says time to move on.
With that said, if any snow did happen between now and memorial day I'm all on board.
BTW- I saw accumulating snow in this area on May 10, 1977 and it was awesome. NYC had a trace, some places in Orange county almost 6 inches.

Re: Wx Banter Thread 2.0
GFS and Euro have a little snow event for April 5. Euro tracks it further north than the GFS. GFS gives SNJ and NYC a few inches while the Euro gives areas further north into SNE and New England a few inches.

Re: Wx Banter Thread 2.0
Mugs, give me the choice between 95 degrees and humid with a heat index of 105 or 25 degrees and windy with a wind chill of 15, I would choose the 95 degrees and humid with a heat index of 105.....unless of course the 25 degrees and windy with a wind chill of 15 is accompanied by a snowstorm.

Correction it started in November.
BTW- This is now the warmest 12 month stretch, April 2015 through March 2016 period in NYC history.

This is a 1,000,000 to 1, and I don't say that because it will be in April I would say it if this was January. These long range maps just plain blow period. Yet I still like looking at them, weird.

Re: Wx Banter Thread 2.0
Scott - classic - snow weenie to teh core!!
April 6th Nor'easter at night lock it up since the Euro is harping on it along with the GooFuS which has not been so goofy lately and the Canadians.
Why the H does this do this to us - 1982 redux - would blow peoples minds if this were to occur and why now? Why not right? We woudl all point the finger to El Nino and say he is at fault!
Oh and put your lawn seed down - snow actually acts as an aerator to the soil - drags it right into the earth - learned this years ago from a sod farmer.

Re: Wx Banter Thread 2.0
The one thing that we were able to brag about the last couple of months was that NYC has been leading Boston in terms of the 2015-16 seasonal snow total. Currently, NYC has 32.1" while Boston has 29.5", a 2.6" lead. This may go by the board in a few days
