Re: February 2016 Observations & Discussions
Cant believe just over 2 weeks ago we had a 30" historic blizzard that put down a snowpack ive never seen from a single storm, melted incredibly fast and got a 3-4" snowstorm the other day (would have been a lot more had it not been raining so much in beginning and ground warm) which was gone by end of day except on previous remaining snowpack in spots and in at least 75% of areas. Woke up to a winter wonderland, fell asleep for a few hours and it was gone. What a weird winter. Hopefully we can get some snow in the coming days and cold weather follows holds true, wanna see some ice on lakes and streams/rivers around here. IMO that makes a great winter, snow and cold. Right now its been snow and mild which i dont like. Want to see the Delaware and Raritan bays freeze over again this year (not gonna happen) but one can hope.

I could not agree with you more on this statement NJ. The only snow we've had all season was from the blizzard (15") which is long gone. Right now the weather in my area is BROWN and BOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGG !!!!!!!!! UGH !!!

Re: February 2016 Observations & Discussions
18.8 degrees and 0.8 inches of snow overnight.
This brings the yearly total to 18.1 inches. Pretty pathetic but it could be worse.

Listen my friend 0.8 inches of snow doesn't end any curse, I think it may have enhanced it.
I was on Union TPK near Lakeville road yesterday, I don't get there that often for work but next time I do me, you, and Mike should have a drink together.
Enjoy your mini blizzard tonight. I know it's not predicted but you and I know it's coming.

It's a little more than that Al. I work on the Queens/Nassau border Mikey (Math) lives there. I live in Syosset which is extreme eastern Nassau. So we are about 32 miles away on a straight line, but still close to call it a sharp cutoff.

Re: February 2016 Observations & Discussions
Going into today there have only been 10 days out of 70 this meteorological winter that the temperatures have been below normal.
Sorry but in my book that is one sorry ass winter.
However it is amazing that despite that most in our area from NYC on south have seen 30-40 inches of snow.
Conversely most in our area 50 miles north of NYC have seen less than 10 inches.
Weird

Watch for snow flurries or showers Saturday as the PV sinks into our area. Accumulations up to an inch possible.
