Re: Feb 9th-10th IVT Update 2.0
This is the band of snow that we'll have to track how far north it gets. Then once the trough pulls out, the secondary low may pop off the coast even though I think it will be too far east to bring any impact to our area. I'm sticking with my snow map for a general 1-3 inches area wide, with 3"+ for those who get trapped under the IVT band.
Re: Feb 9th-10th IVT Update 2.0
There's another band coming from the west. This will help bring snow to those in NEPA and HV overnight.

The 500mb energy will track east regardless. While the surface may break apart it could redevelop once it cross the mountains.

Skins/ace what are you reporting? Wet snow or rain? Looks like returns over your area as well and seems like CNJ has pivoted into the zone for now.

Is the area of where it keeps breaking up between Philly and the coast is that because the IVT is beginning to transfer to the coastal. Just curious why the bands keep breaking up...and yes I'm just learning.

Re: Feb 9th-10th IVT Update 2.0
To me it looks like we will not see the coastal low pop. Instead, the IVT is actually chugging north. HOW FAR NORTH IT GETS AND WHERE IT STALLS BEFORE HEADING OUT TO SEA WILL DETERMINE WHO GETS WHATS. I'M THINKING THIS IVT SETS UP OVER NORTH-CENTRAL NJ BARELY TOUCHING NYC.
We'll see.
We'll see.

Re: Feb 9th-10th IVT Update 2.0
The last couple of frames show the band sliding east a bit. Not much northern progression is likely. We knew this was going to be a difficult forecast and localized event. It's coming to fruition tonight
