Re: May Observations and Discussion
Yes, exactly-an ever present swirl of grayness and mist. At night the last few weeks, the house has had that little cool edge on it, just enough to burn the woodstove at night. Right now at 3:30 am it is 50 degrees outside but it seems to feel a bit warmer than that. Misty, damp. Grass is about eight inches high. Will we ever see the sun?

50* Moderate rain here with a good amount of steady rain, sometimes heavy to come through. Back edge looks around the PA border.
To the south and much skinner, showery line looks headed toward you. But its futher away down there maybe it wont make it to Jersey shore.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY ALL THE MOM'S!!
52* WITH .21" IN THE BUCKET TODAY.
Looking forward to that fusion bomb we call the sun today - feels like apocalypsis since we have not seen this phenom in quite some time. Saw some it last night.

Re: May Observations and Discussion
Showers possible Tuesday and Friday this week. Other than that, mainly dry and partly cloudy skies. Much better than last week.

one 80* day (april) so far this spring. if gfs mos is reasonably accurate we will still have only one 80* thru the 17th. the near record blocking (AO and EPO) probably the main reason. when this patterns flips will we end up paying for this cooler weather?

I hope not!! I don't want it to be super hot...just warm enough to enjoy the outdoors, garden, and swim...supper hot would not be fun!!

Some passing drizzle today. Nothing serious.
We're still on track to see rain Friday. It should dry up by the early evening hours. I also have to throw Saturday in there. A weak disturbance will pass through Saturday late morning into afternoon to bring some rain. Cool temperatures will follow behind it which will last into the following week. As mentioned in the LR thread, I think we're looking at a significant warmup the last week of May. Hang in there!

Hey Frank do you think on Sunday night thru Monday night that there could be frost advisories or warnings issued

Advisory level is possible from NYC south. Most likely, any type of advisory and warning will be for the NW burbs into PA

Re: May Observations and Discussion
Rain on Friday looks very light. I think it will move out by the mid afternoon too. Should be a clear Friday night
The system on Saturday is slower so most of the day may be overcast with showers. It will be pretty cool behind the front. Temps Monday morning may only be in the 30's from NYC on north.
