I am on the bus stuck in heavy traffic trying to get back to the Bronx I mean it is black outside with a winddriven rain crazy lighting how bad is it in the bronx

Wind driven heavy heavy rain here currently. No thunder or lightning though.

Literally nothing bad north of manhattan. A lot power outages in queens, brooklyn and staten island. From looks of radar I may only see some light rain out of all this. That strong part of the line looks to skim just north of me, seen some lightning but nothing exciting. Sheesh

Yep, and my location is barely going to get clipped by the southern part of that if at all, been quiet here barely any rain.

Heavy rain here for about 15 minutes, got .5" but light to moderate rain on the way....

I have never seen rain that heavy for that long. Torrential downpour for over an hour with frequent & vivd lightening. Numerous strikes looking over the Hudson.
Manhattan and south was epic. Wow.

Wow did not even see that from here and birds eye its like 15 miles. Very localized. Just some very light rain is all that ever happened here all day, thats the nature of this weather but also that line did not really hold together as expected.

It look like the bulk of it was south of Harlem moving east manhattan BK, Qns and so on. Enough to shut down LIRR for a time. It kept going and going. Training tstorms I guess.

Vicious lightning

66.3, 93%, 29.68 R, cloudy.

Had two T Storms pass through yesterday.First had heavy wind gusts a little rain around 2:30 then another with heavier rain, no wind around 5:30.Total for the both .46 in the bucket.

Looks like the heat breaks in the end of the week.August almost here.Can tell it gets darker earlier now.

Received .83" yesterday - not much CTG lightening well none really at all.

Newark (sum a no bitch!!) - 99* missed triple digits by a hair - uggh wanted to see this.

It's sunny out and I'm getting thunder and lightening. I've never seen that before. I thought I imagined the first 2 strikes until I heard the thunder roll. No rain with it. Is this heat lightening?

upper 80's to low 90's for highs today no area airport hit heat advisory criteria (95* heat index) because of low dp. although temps are running 1-3* above normal for july the recent heat hasn't felt like a true heatwave. very comfortable temps tonight and tom night outside of urban areas with lows getting into the 50's-low 60's. 90* temps will break on Friday although dews will be up. reason for the relatively comfortable weather this july is the absence of the south east ridge or Bermuda high. pdo/epo driven polar jet has dominated with constant cold frontal passages. look at today eps more of the same as each time ridge tries to build it flattens as it gets to our area. both the s/e ridge and the ridge out west.
