I wanted to share these pictures I got from a friend from the storm. They were taken yesterday in Bay Head NJ. This is why I am concerned here along the shore. Sandy has changed everything. If it wasn't for the rock wall that was put their after Sandy the ocean would have been way inland. Now their are many other towns with no wall. This is scary stuff.

I CANNOT REMEMBER THIS MUCH RAINFALL DURING A SINGLE WINTER...and I'm gonna lose it! This storm is the straw that broke the camel's back!

30.2 and still snowing moderately.
Have picked up 1.8 inches of snow tonight in this rotation that started around 7:30
Storm total is now 6.1 inches. Definitely a nice surprise.

Re: January 22nd-24th Nor'easter Observations & Discussions
Yeah, we would have 2' of snow! My temp has been at 36°, just dropped to 35° and moderate rain. Like I said, I have heard sleet on occasion, but nothing to see on surfaces.... might be different on the cars, but can't see them from the house.

Re: January 22nd-24th Nor'easter Observations & Discussions
30.4 and still snowing lightly but accumulating snow pretty much over.
2.1 inches of snow tonight 4.3 inches of sleet last night.
6.4 inch storm total with snow depth from freezing rain and compacting today 5.0 inches.
No complaints, well one, it could have been two feet of snow but it is what it is.

Re: January 22nd-24th Nor'easter Observations & Discussions
The SCI for the potential 29th-30th remains at 20% this morning. Reminder that the Snow Confidence Index is a confidence level percentage of how I feel about at least 1" of snow accumulating in Central Park, NY for a give storm event. It can be found on the home page and is updated once a day. Models are advertising a potent upper level trough during that time, but it looks like the Baroclinic Zone will be too far S&E and there will be no southern energy to phase with the northern energy. Some models hint at a norlun trough / inverted trough type feature but those type of events don't get sorted out until 24 to 48 hours prior.
