And just like that, the CMC folds too. Awaiting further maps, but the precipitation shield is definitely further northwest versus prior runs.

Very high probability I will adjust it, but I haven't figured out how yet lol I want to do some deeper analysis later today. I'm leery of these super totals still given the (lack of a true) moisture source, but I'll look into it.

The German and UKIE models are coming in HUGE. 30-40MM of ALL SNOW for much of the area.

With the GFS closing off, that gets my attention. A Godzilla is all but certain now with an increasingly stronger system and expanding shield. Is it possible to see isolated areas of Roidzilla amounts Frank?

Nuts beat me to it - this sucker showing the B potential here - I aint saying it but just point out teh fact of this beast. Also it s NW precip shield should be further west and the dynamics expand as well - MADONNE thi isht is getting real just as fast as yesterdays run!

Frank where is all this moisture coming from? I thought we were in a progressive pattern. That's Roidzilla numbers!!!Frank_Wx wrote:The German and UKIE models are coming in HUGE. 30-40MM of ALL SNOW for much of the area.

Good move all, throwing in the towel last week. Had to make a difference.
An excellent point and duly noted. Next year we should remember this and two thirds of the form should throw in the towel around mid November.

0% Devsman. sorry. I wish you would but they won't.
Yeah usually next to no chance, if anything it'll be open with very low attendance..but this setup leaves the door slightly open.
The final snow totals doesn't mean that much. The conditions in the morning are what really matter. You need an all out raging blizzard during the early am

IF and a big IF we get a tropopause fold from Bergen County to LI COULD be a Blizz for them.
"Mixing between stratospheric and tropospheric air can occur most readily in deep intrusions of stratospheric air into the troposphere, such as tropopause folds (Danielsen 1968). They occur because of the ageostrophic circulation at the jet entrance (Hoskins 1982) and coincide with the frontal zone beneath the jet. Deep folds can extend down to the top of the boundary layer (Browell et al. 1987; Vaughan et al. 1994), while smaller folds, extending only into the upper troposphere, are ubiquitous around the polar jet stream (e.g. Vaughan et al. 2001). They also occur beneath the subtropical jet stream (Gouget et al. 1996), where it has been suggested that mixing between the subtropical fold and tropospheric air promotes the generation of new aerosol particles (Zahn et al. 2000). Turbulence within folds can result from shear instability beneath the jet (Pepler et al. 1998; Hartjenstein 2000) or from convection extending up from the boundary layer (Browning and Reynolds 1994)."

Would 2-3" down in southern ocean county be on target? That's what they are calling for but I see a trend for higher numbers?
