March 2017 Observations & Discussions
March looks to pick up right where February left off...with unseasonably warm weather. A transient cold shot this weekend (the first freezing temperatures in NYC in over two weeks) occurs before it warms right back up.
The last four Marches were all cooler than their preceding Decembers. Will this be where it ends?

Re: March 2017 Observations & Discussions
Probably will not start a thread for Friday's clipper (maybe an observation thread), but models are trending more robust with this feature. I raised the SCI to 50% this morning (meaning 50% probability of seeing at least 1" of snow in CPK). The short range models, as well as the GFS, show a minimum of 1".

Just rain here no storms everything died out it appears north of way south. Cab anyone explain why northern ct mass and other areas have a hww while the tro state has a advisory? Another mistake like the last one? Or is there a reason these areas winds will b higher than here.

Re: March 2017 Observations & Discussions
Up here near Sullivan Co and northern Orange, it spritzed this morning and so far was a cloudy but nice day. 61 degrees at 5:40 pm and no real wind or rain to speak of. Sitting on the back deck watching the sun set, and the only thing cold is my beer. Trees are still, and yep the peepers are peeping. They started a few nights ago. What are they going to do with the 13 degrees Fri night and 12 degrees Saturday night forecast for around my neck of the woods?

My temp is staying the same, 60. No winds. No rain. We will see how the rest of the night goes. There is a sense of uneasiness outside...like something should happen but isn't.

Lol. Yeah a little late I guess. Temps suddenly took off into the 70s after sunset.
I thought they would bust low here but nope.
Feeling like a june night. That incoming cold air looks even colder than I thought. That gonna hit ppl hard.

In Midtown Manhattan last night at 6 p.m. the car thermometer was 75 degrees on March 1st we went from winter to summer as that temperature at that time is normal for the end of June. Re: March 2017 Observations & Discussions
The wind is really impressive. I got woken up by the wind around 2 am, and it's still going strong 4 hours later. Pretty strong sustained winds and the gusts are easily over 40 mph maybe near 50 mph. Just saw a report of a 64 mph gust at Lancaster PA. Current temp 47*.
