Re: FRIDAY MARCH 10th 2017: Discussions & Observations
AVP has been reporting snow for the last couple hours, so if it hasn't started yet it should very soon. It hasn't even been snowing hard or even moderately! Light snow and we have over 1"/hr rates. This is absurd aha

According to Mets on Wins 1010 radio, when the disturbance reaches the coast the snow will intensify and that should at dawn or shortly after.

Don't know how to quote on mobile but I am a few miles from AVP and have a good bit of snow on my back patio by it barely stuck in gravel driveway. I'll be leaving to shovel soon soonish, so have to see how much we get. Roads just started to get coated now...

Basically. The colors indicate visibility; green is unrestricted, blue is like 3-5 miles I think, and then red is less than 3 miles. The purple asterisks are actually stations reporting snow. Two asterisks are light snow, three is moderate, and four is heavy.

When do you all anticipate ending today? I need to go pick up some items in Passaic County from Morris County and need to schedule that.

Good morning Doc, CP. I was hoping to wake up to a mantle of white, but unfortunately that didn't happen. Maybe next week I'll get my day off. You know everybody on here is thinking about next weeks storm and really could care less about this event. I know it's on my mind. LOL !!!

Hey SNOWMAN the GFS had orange county and NEPA for 30-40 inches on Tuesday, we can only dream.
Just took the first measurement of the morning. 2.5 inches here on the snowboard, grass is covered and the trees but roads and driveway still relatively clear. 29.5 with moderate snow.

Good Morning SNOW MAN.It's picking up in intensity here now.NWS says it will continue until 12 noon and radar seems to verify that.Just very happy to see winter come back, snowpack again, cold temperatures return and a monster lurking in the upper atmosphere! A snow weenies dream come true! As Yogi Berra always said..."it ain't over til it's over!" You can get snow up here right into the first week of April.Kudos to the long range crew, they were seeing this a few weeks ago.
