When I moved in here 2 1/2 years ago I considered getting s riding mower but they cost a couple of thousand for a good one, I would lose my parking space in the garage, maintenance costs, etc etc.I decided to just pay my guy the 40 bucks he charges me to do my acre.At my point in life, peace of mind is more important than saving money, lol.

I actually love cutting grass.....So much so that come May I drive up to my parents house in the catskills 2 1/2 hours one way just to cut the grass. (and do some trout fishing)  They have a tractor and a riding mower.  I have 6 total acres to cut.  Takes about 4 hours and 8 beers if I don't stop.  Absolutely love it, especially looking at the perfectly straight neat lines of fresh cut sweet-smelling grass I leave behind when I look at it from up high.  I'll try to post a picture.

Here it is. Looking out from the balcony towards Hunter Mt. 2 more acres out back.

I didn't want to but I fall too far behind and when your 20 yards behind it is impossible to catch up! I spent 3000 on that Toro with the bagger, and it was WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY! I made the money back in about a month!

Beer and mowing is a bad idea, not just because the lines get crooked when drunk but it dehydrates you. I have had people ask me if I wanted a beer many times and if I didn't have more work to do, I would have taken it!

How old is your son? I have many more pictures for him to stare at if you want! Wink

Man, I need help with my lawn! We had a sewer line repair done in December and I can't wait to get out there to fix the damage! Hoping the dirt settles back quickly!

Yea nothing like have a green lawn in the summer as all your neighbors are brown. Takes effort but the pride in ownership is worth it. Just like after a snow storm making sure every inch of driveway is cleared and all your edges are clean and straight.

When you start your driveway at 5am and have to go do a bunch more, you couldn't care less about those edges... time is money!

I guess that's one of the benefits of living in the tropics.

Up here, a mere 50 miles north of central park, where winters linger and we've had 84 days of snow cover and counting, no need to worry about those things yet.
