GFS temp lows are calling for 30's but there is a ring of insulation around the UHI of NYC - once you get about 25 miles away there is a sharp temp gradient where temps go from low 40's to low 30's.

2008's storm brought a hefty bought of severe weather to the southeast with multiple tornadoes as well...

GFS has what looks like a strong ts/hurricane 978mb riding coast for mothers day (in may can it still be called a noreaster?). i do not recall 2008.

Nothing new to report. We're in the middle of a strong -NAO block which will keep temps below average all week. High's will not escape the 60's most likely. Another coastal storm looms for Saturday-Sunday (UGH - WHAT IS IT WITH THE WEEKEND TIMING???).

I do think ensembles are hinting at sustained warmer weather after May 20th or so. I sure hope so!

Personally I'd rather ease into the summer type weather instead of going straight from cool to hot. Those 80+ degree days we had a couple of weeks ago really drained me. Going to enjoy this week.

Jeeze with the lasr rainstorm and rivers still running high 5 plus inches of rain in about 24 hrs is not going to be good at all, going to be major flooding. Not to mention possible wind and coastal issues, I will not be around as I am taking my wife to Mohegan Sun in CT for mothers day leaving Sat. I guess on Sunday I will be coming home to the aftermath, looks to be less harsh in eastern CT per latest GFS.
