Re: September OBS/Discussions
I was going to say the same. Temps in the beginning of the month had it look like it would be average or even below average for the month. Now we're definitely going to end up above normal. I heard some Mets call for a mild fall. Either way my a.c. goes off October 1st. Time to save some money lol.

This weekend does look cooler. Possibly not getting out of the 60's on Saturday. It will feel absolutely refreshing.

Re: September OBS/Discussions
It may not get as warm as you think. The position of the ridge is more west than south. While temps will be above normal, I am thinking in the 70's. Depends where that ridge sets up. This week its been in the 80's and kinda humid because of the tropical systems in the Atlantic.

Here is what I was talking about Mugs. Check out the current 500mb set up and the source regions for our air mass. Deep tropics and GOM. Noce the current dew points as well upper 60's and low 70's...GROSS!

Now look at the 500mb set up for the time frame of the image you show above. Pac and Canadian air mass. 500mb flow over our area is more W or even WNW rather than from the SW or SE. A much different air mass as you can see.
Here are the two warmest days on the euro over the next 10days. 70's and low to mid 80's. BUT notice the corresponding dew points for those two days...50's to low 60 at worst. So despite a few days of warm day time temps overall it should feel quite pleasant; especially at night with low dew points. So if we are going to be a little above avg temp wise maybe the silver lining is found?? Maybe??

Re: September OBS/Discussions
@Scott thanks and I was just thinking about this and read this that allmo dB the massive and deep tropical cyclones are huge heat transfer vehicles and have pumped the SE CAN HP as you point out that sinks. I got a mind block here with this looking at the package jet gift and looking at the warm water N of Hawaii in the PAC saying oh no.
This is something we all need to remember and I can remember Floyd and how tropical is was for days after he hit. These massivery tropical cyclones have pulled the intense warmth oUT of the ocean and go and sent it up this way.
Here is something of note
NYC had its 6th COOLEST SEPT 1-10 period on record and the COOLEST such period in over 100 YEARS!!!!!
NYC will have had its WARMEST SEPT 20-30 period on record to counter balance the other time frame.

Nope. Any rain that falls over the next 10 days will amount to virtually zero.
