The run to run differences in the models at H5 are still laughable right now

That's not much better lol and just the increasing amplitude, with what's going on in the Northern Hemisphere, it's just mayhem for the modeling. Then you add in the different schemes within the separate models and it just compounds the complexity.

Re: Tracking Hurricane Irma
Euro has a landfall in SC. And we are all over the place as rb stated. Only thing I see is the fact that a us landfall seems pretty likely. Cmc even though did recurve I think will come west and eventually come in line with gfs. Still sticking to ur guns rb?

Re: Tracking Hurricane Irma
OMG 06z gfs rides nj to landfall northern NJ cat 4 or so very similar to 18z. Starting to wonder if gfs isn't possibly maybe right. Euro came North with a landfall in NC. Cmc was a close call. All shown around Sunday. What a week this is gonna be.

Re: Tracking Hurricane Irma
crazy just nuts. 3 pulverizing runs and now euro on to landfall too. Don't pay attention to the light winds on land for some reason the model of that map does not read the winds over land. 850mb wind map does I'll post it when I'm up it's crazy.skinsfan1177 wrote:

I know we're not supposed to look at operationals this far out, but mother of God this looks like something out of a disaster movie.

Re: Tracking Hurricane Irma
Looks like we have a battle between the southern Euro and the northern GFS. Really comes down to timing. They both agree upon Irma being a very strong system, so with either scenario, this will be a major issue for someone along the EC. While yes it can still go OTS, it is looking a lot less likely at this point.

Re: Tracking Hurricane Irma
It all comes down to that recurving typhoon SANVU and where he sets up shop in the GOA and what downstream effects he will have on the pattern.
These runs are terrifying indeed but the next few days well see what is what.
IF the GooFuS pulls this off then it won't be so Goofy after all and we make America Great once again!!

Re: Tracking Hurricane Irma
Euro isn't that far south and if it moved at all north after Carolina landfall I could see effects like Irene making it all way up maybe even a cat 1
