Backside wind swill come through and stingers as I pointed out will be in full effect dont let your guard down just yet. Say from about early am to mid morning we see these winds gusts could hit the 40 -50 mph plus for the NNJ lHV region.

With the rain tapering off, the winds have now picked up. Also, at the aforementioned weatherbug station in Franklin Square, the pressure is at 28.99" (982 mb). Gusts there are 39 mph

Wind the last hour is impressive. I’m surprised. Multiple gusts to 50+. Relentless. Gonna be a lot of damage. No rain the entire time just wind.

Rain resumed, back edge hitting.Winds really picked up in last 15 minutes, howling now.3.20 in the bucket.Saw rain totals, some areas in CT and LI have close to 5 or 5 plus!!!

Another round of heavy rain about to move in from Jersey. Close to 3” here. No major damage from the winds and most leaves still on the trees which is surprising.

we had a little bit of wind that woke me up close to 11:30, but not for long...currently we have received 4.55 inches of rain and we currently have moderate rain fall. The low temp for the night was 45 and winds currently are at 11 mph.

CT got hit really hard 145k without power hope my parents house okay as they come home today. Its windy now and I havw no hot water grrr.

Turns out there was a lot of damage and MANY trees down all over LI. Up by me though very little which is surprising because I’m in a heavily treed neighborhood.

Raining heavily here with windy conditions.
Rain gauge registered 3.35" BUT when I checked it there where leaves covering the opening!!

As rain ends, drier air will advect eastward in strengthening
westerly flow, with the subsequent mixing and clearing allowing
strong winds above the surface to be transported downward. A
wind advisory is now in effect for gusts to near 45 to 50 mph,
particularly during the late morning to early afternoon as the
strongest low-level winds pass through the area. There after,
the strongest jet core moves to the north as the low pressure
system moves into Canada, which should allow a gradual decrease
in gust strength through the evening

Yep, winds here are a garden variety NE storm, nothing severe yet.However, the rain came across and we needed it up here.

Euro had several runs with 60+ gusts for nyc metro and 70+ for LI. Big bust by euro
