We may make an unexpected run to 0 tonight.
CP, in my way of thinking, having this brutal cold without snow, is like one of your buddies coming over to play poker with your others and he forgot to bring the beer.I'd rather have 28 degrees at night with a snowstorm on the way of 16 plus inches.

Here in the Montreal region, it is -5* F, the wind chill is -25* F and there is a healthy snowpack. Tonight, it is forecasted to get down to -15* F with the wind chill going down to -35*F.

Wow, that's brutal cold. Looks like most of NJ can expect temps in lower teens and single digits tonight. Currently 20 degrees here.

Down to 19* already and I am working on a new building that is not closed up yet at LaGuardia so it's about another 10 degrees colder than outside cannot wait.

Re: December Obs and Discussion
GFS Ensembles and other models are trending wetter for Saturday's system. I am going to forecast 1-3 inches of snow for NYC, eastern NJ, and LI. Lollipop 4-5" amounts possible. C-2" with lollipop 3"-4" amounts for those N&W. It will be a high ratio / fluffy type of snow day. I will not start a thread. Let's just use this thread to talk about it.

Reason I like more along the coast is due to jet enhancement / extension

2 days left. 50 miles more n and w shift and all coastal areas would be in .4" +. Let's get her done. With these ratios we could reach warning criteria IF WE GET MORE IF A SHIFT. I'm just hoping here

Re: December Obs and Discussion
So you areally in the 3-5" with high ratio if you get .3-.4qpf easliy. These little costal have trended more NW and this airmass is ready to produce.

Re: December Obs and Discussion
5.0 degrees, snow on the ground still from Christmas Eve. I don't think any of the 2.5 inches has melted yet.
Boy how expectations can change the mood. Now that we all put the 30-40 inch clown maps from last week out of our collective memories we can get our juices flowing for a possible 1-4 this Saturday.
I like the trend especially for LI, give me 2-3 Saturday IMBY and I'll be a happy man.

Re: December Obs and Discussion
I am going to update my SCI to 75% for at least 1 inch of snow falling in NYC this Saturday. Short range models are coming in wetter for this event.

Other than LI basically .1-.2 qpf through most of the area, would translate to a basic 2 -3 inch snowfall. I'll take it.
Love the Tom Petty reference, RIP legend.
