Re: December 14th Clipper
Still dark out, estimating about an inch but will post a formal measure in a while.Lee had a good talk about clippers. My area usually is in the scroo zone for these as the western areas do best before the clipper weakens and LI does better as the storm intensifies off the coast.

We got a nice fluffy inch on the Shore.
Actually it was nicer to wake up to this than it was to endure that slopfest on Saturday...

Re: December 14th Clipper
Still very light snow to flurries. sitting at 2.5" for this clipper. Nice little burst lasting about 30mins that dropped an inch. Love high ratio snows.

Re: December 14th Clipper
I measured 1.2" of snow in Bellerose before I left just after 7 AM. So maybe a few tenths of an inch to add on afterwards.
I noticed that CPK had 1.2" of snow as of 7 AM with 0.07 qpf for a ~17:1 snow ratio. It had 0.02" qpf afterwards. The next time the NWS stations update is at 1 PM. Let's see if they measured before the melt/compaction took place. In past events (most notably 2/5/16), the snow stopped around 10 AM, then the sun came out so the melting was underway before 1 PM. So CPK measured just over two inches while they probably actually measured a bit higher (EWR and LGA had similar issues).

What a shock.....Between 7 AM and 1 PM, EWR, LGA, and JFK had their snow totals increase by several tenths of an inch. Central Park, no change(!) as the 1.2" snow measurement from 7 AM is the same from their 1 PM measurement.

Re: December 14th Clipper
While I got two inches and maybe just a bit more, it ended. I think our white Xmas hopes will be dashed by higher temps and rain to wash all the snow away. The only hope for a white Xmas is...a storm! So is there one that will produce around the 23rd or so?
