Sunday into Monday Light Wintry Event

WWA are up for N&W of the city for tonight into rush hour tomorrow mirning. Albeit light but sleet and zr will cause issues.

Issued: 3:28 PM EST Dec. 17, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 10 PM this evening to
7 am EST Monday...

* what... light freezing rain expected, including during the
morning commute on Monday. Total accumulations of a trace to a
hundredth of an inch are expected.

* Where... portions of northeast New Jersey, southern Connecticut
and southeast New York.

* When... from 10 PM this evening to 7 am EST Monday.

* Additional details... the precipitation will likely start as snow
tonight before transitioning to sleet and freezing rain late
tonight and early Monday morning. A few tenths of an inch of
snow and sleet are possible, especially from Connecticut to the
lower Hudson Valley.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.

I could see this happen. I think back to the times where the region was set to get rain from warmth entering the region that started as an icy mix. This was usually days after seeing some accumulating snow. We had just that Thursday and Friday.

Yupp and the few inches of snow on the ground with dew points in the mid 20s should keep surface temps low for a bit.

Snow mixed with the little sleet a light coating on the ground 30 degrees

We had wintry mix early now it's just plan light rain 34 *

Had snow then sleet then freezing rain from 3-5:30. Light coating. Now 36.

Still 33 degrees here
