ATM, definitely underperforming although they closed the Chester NY school were my Wife is a School Aide and NWS still sticking with 3 to 5 additional inches on top of the 1 plus inch I have.Radar looks good but still no "ooomph" in this storm.NWS says up to 10 AM so I will see.R/S line definitely visible on this one.
29 degrees , light snow.

First official measurement 2.3 inches. Underwhelmed so far.

27.2 degrees light/moderate snow. It better be an intense next 4 hours or this baby falls flat. 4-5 inches 20 miles north of me though so Hyde and Jim should be doing okay.

Surprisingly, I woke to five inches. The snowfall rate seemed so meh last night, I would have said maybe three. It seemed to stay at a perpetual two inches last night. I still may see six at the end of it all. Of course I'll take it.

This is a bottom of the ninth situation, two runs down, men on 2nd and 3rd and we are batting in the bottom of that ninth.Glad we even got 2.3 inches CP.Radar still looks good but no real power to this storm as of yet.Need minimum 1 inch per hour rates to hit that WSW level.NWS 4:20 AM update says 2 to 4 more up here .

I know right. Snow made it all the way to the gulf coast including the FL panhandle right now. (3rd time this winter)
I'm at 36 and rain. Per radar the only places raining from the Gulf to New England is Jersey shore, NYC , LI.
I see that snow line near the Hudson though.

32 degrees, moderate wet snow, nearly 1/2", must have changed over shortly after my 445 break. This is the pasty stuff I was expecting back in Dec. What a backwards winter.

@NjWeatherGuy wrote:Radar shows rain, about to check. 33 degrees. Surpriaed, the models were pretty accurate with the R/S line at least compared to radar. Can't believe it's rain with 33, nighttime, and virtually all levels below freezing. Is there a warm layer somewhere aloft?

Models have been consistently showing a warm nos at 925mb for days.  I have been mentioning it.  The immediate surface temps I bet have been a tad misleading because the ground has been so fozen so it is prob colder than the rest of the atmosphere from say 50ft-2000ft (925mb).  When looking at observations there is simply no source of cold air to our north to reinforce cold air; therefore the warm air from the developing surface low is winning out.  Wind direction is off the ocean.  There is a 1030HP but it is off the Atlantic coast further enhancing the wind direction from the E & ENE when combined with the position of the Low.  The writing was on the wall with this one several days ago for the coast plain.  Maybe we can get some change over and a quick burst as the Low moves away and wind direction shifts, but not holding my breath for my back yard.

Yep! Guess we better shoot for the lower range of 4 inches CP, if even that.Classic N and W storm of days gone by, with jimv, hyde and Damian on the high end and rain in NYC, LI and the NJ Shore. We are 'stuck in the middle",LOL.

32* with steady light snow. 1/2” here. Expect to end up around 1”. Rain at start may have cost another 1/2 inch or so.
