You, my expert forecaster friend know how to take a joke. That in itself is appreciated, but don't ever under measure again.
Many, many thanks for your leniency, Judge. I very much appreciate it and shall not squander my second chance :p

Ended up with about an inch of very wet snow from this. Not thrilled but also not nothing. Models handled the RS line pretty well, tho GFS too cold, nothing near all snow here.

To further give evidence on the weirdness of this storm, I submit the following. On the way to Fort Lee NJ from Monroe NY yesterday, I had 3.5 inches on the ground at my house approximately 700 feet elevation.Going down the Orange Turnpike past the Red Apple Rest, probably 350 feet lower, I noticed around 2 inches. There's a 1 1/2 inch difference a few miles away.In Fort Lee NJ, I noticed around 2 inches again while in the next town over, Edgewater NJ, there was barely 1/2 inch.
I am hoping this winter for an area wide blockbuster snowstorm as per January of 1996 so everybody from the west like Aresian and MikeyP, the south Jersey and Jersey shore crew, the Island Crew and we of the North all get 20 inches plus.I am sick of these measly clippers and coastal scrapers.Give us a textbook Miller A originating in the Gulf and coming up the coast right over the Benchmark!!!

Right on Doc! While not necessarily an 'embarrassment' of riches, this winter has already been a great producer for the coastal regions. Give the coast maybe two more 6+ storms (with at least one in the daytime please), and I'd have to walk away from winter '17-'18 happy at that point.
But, the northern and inland regions have been just 'getting by'. I don't want parts of our region to get the short end of the stick all winter. I don't have much knowledge or insight into any of this stuff, so I guess my contribution to the forum will have to be some good karma!

Although we appreciate the sympathies we are doing just fine up here in the northland. We are already over 2 feet for the season which is about normal up here for this point in the year.
Other than the abysmal winter of two years ago 4 out of our last 5 winters not including this one we have received between 65 and 72 inches of snow. I can't complain about that. The big differences is coastal regions and Long Island in particular have joined the party some of those years and their totals have nearly equaled ours and two years ago surpassed them. Being the magnanimous people we are in the Hudson Valley we have no problem sharing the wealth.

My last 5 seasonal snowfalls here on LI were
2012/13 65.2”
2013/14 71.5”
2014/15 72.3”
2015/16 25”
2016/17 70.8”
2017/18 24.6” so far
AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE POST ABOVE, THEY HAVE BEEN HIGHER THAN CP’s totals in the HV every one of those years.

Because of the actual snowfall totals or because of snowfall measuring techniques???? Comparing our snowfall totals, since we both live on LI, I notice some glaring differences. With the exception of 2015/2016 you have measure more than me in every other year. Of the other 4 recorded years listed you have recorde a grand total of 57.85" of snowfall more than me. 2012/2013 and 2016/2017 seem particularly glaring.

You must look closer at my totals when compared to the same years for CP my friend.

Thats my point young James. Since your measuring techniques have been recently called into question my post was comparing my totals to yours, and now I question if your totals accurate or are they inflated because you have CP envy?

Towards the end of the 2015-16 winter, James mentioned that he had 44" where he was up to that point.

Of course since their compared against my totals I noticed immediately.
It's very scary that I'm thinking as Syos thinks. It may be time for a mental health check. What does the room availability look like in the OTI Sanitarium this weekend?
