Re: March 2nd Nor'easter Update
I am seriously concerned with getting back home on route 80 at this point. Looks like accidents are already mounting. I expected snow but this is pretty intense.
The radar is quite beautiful. It looks like it cuts off just west of Scranton. Can we expect this line to hold for the foreseeable future or will it gradually work it's way East from here on out?

Re: March 2nd Nor'easter Update
Looks like a showdown is looming here on the Jersey Shore...the cold air has made down here and the change-over looks to be starting, but future cast radar shows the warm air trying to push the r/s line back up north...
Who's gonna control the line of scrimmage down here? Ha ha!
History says the warm air...experts here say the cold air has more of a chance this time around...matter of fact, seeing a little white fluff fall from the sky as we speak. 38*

A close friend of mine has had three windshields cracked, one shattered completely on 80 in the last three years. I do anything to avoid it.

Re: March 2nd Nor'easter Update
Haha hey you guys aren't making me feel any better with all this!
I myself have donated two windshields to route 80 over the past few years. Tis a wonderful road.
Changing over to snow here in West Caldwell.

It's been snowing hard in Upper Greenwood Lake since 7am. I think this is going to be a jackpot area.

NAM has been amazingly consistent. Looks very similar to the NAM maps over the last 48 hours, no?

Re: March 2nd Nor'easter Update
TWC app now calling for 'about one inch of snow' after an afternoon of mixed precip in coastal Ocean County, NJ...and the precip is def frozen at the moment...WAAAAAYYYYY ahead of schedule.
What, is this storm creating it's own cold air or something...?

Latest HRR. Some weird bands which I would expect, again who knows how relevant any of it is now with the oddities already seen.

The King NAM has IMO been far and away the best model for this storm so far.

Re: March 2nd Nor'easter Update
Unreal. Grass still poking out through the snow. At best, 2". Especially disappointing as I figured being away from the more complex dynamics of the system would mean a fairly straightforward forecast.

In tobyhanna state park, pa 2000’. This is a real full fledged blizzard here. Winds gusting to at least 40 mph and white out. About 4 inches on ground. Roads are completely snow covered probably will become impassable if it keeps up. Awesome to see the power of this beast.

Re: March 2nd Nor'easter Update
BTW most pro mets did a horrible job with this. NWS Albany had no mention of snow possibility until yesterday and still have me in flood watch and just added a wwa late yesterday. My daughter who lives in Albany didn't even know it was going to snow until I let her know yesterday and now they are expecting a foot. The weather channel still says 1-3 which is a joke. Power outages are already being reported and its snowing heavily. I guess thats what happens when you hug the GFS.

Re: March 2nd Nor'easter Update
so I guess the storm is producing its own cold air but does that mean the storm is intensifying quicker than originally thought?
