Nothing crazy yeah just a rain and snow mix going on at LaGuardia. If anyone is flying at LaGuardia Airport expect delays and cancellation only for today I don't know about tomorrow

Re: March 2nd Nor'easter Update
[quote="WeatherBob"]The Watchung Mtns are playing a local role in western Essex and Union counties. I have been snow and sleet since 7:45 this morning at an elevation of around 400 to 450 ft. I am assuming the same this is happening in western union in the watchungs[/quote
Yes, it has been similar here in Summit further west in the Watchungs, at least since 9:30. Hello everyone. I've been a member for a while, but this is my first post. I live in North Plainfield. When I left my house around 9:00, it was raining, but it was a mix for a short while and slush had accumulated on my car. On my drive to work up the mountain, it became steady snow, then a mix, then rain again. For a while we had steady snow here, but it switched back to rain. Now it's a mix. Nothing is sticking. The wind is nothing special - a little breezy at times, but that's it. The radar is showing a big green blob of rain in starting in north-central NJ and extending into central NJ, with snow to the east, west, and north, and Summit is in a mix area. As I write this, the blob is breaking up! I think it's going to go back and forth like this for a while, if not all day. Ponding on the roadways was the biggest hazard driving this morning.

Currently mixing, 36 degrees. Have some moderate snow for a few minutes, but that changed over to a mix again.

Well since we couldn't see any landmasses through the crayons I guess you could claim anything.

Re: March 2nd Nor'easter Update
It's been snowing here since about 9 this morning only places seeing accumulation of the shaded areas about an inch on my grass that is not exposed to the Sun the rest of my property just wet it has been snowing moderately to heavy but cannot overcome the March Sun the warm surface and the marginal temperatures good job by the National Weather Service down here anyway and I should say a good job by all of us on here knowing that this was going to be primarily snow once the coastal got going

Same here too. NAM and current radar have shown snow for the past 2-3 hours and it has not snowed at all. In fact, it's barely even raining anymore.

Your'e right Janet, I just looked at the radar and it's just sitting there.Very weird storm.I would guess any eastward movement has to help get colder air further south.

Re: March 2nd Nor'easter Update
Still a good wind whipped snow here. Not sticking to surfaces, (which I think will be the case here unless it continues past 4 pm) but looks impressive whipping around with the winds. Nice big flakes. I got a pic from a friend in Hunterdon Co and it’s sticking to everything there, but she’s at a slightly higher elevation too.

Imagine if this storm had cold air from the start and hadn’t needed to generate its own cold air. We’d be getting feet.

Significant uptick in the wind the last 10 minutes. Precip has lightened considerably but the winds are now gusting to 40 mph
