that's what my husband just said...we had a couple of gusts close to 50 mph.......during Sandy our sustained winds were more than 60 and highest was 83 at the worst part of the storm..today we had sustained winds for a while in the 30's...hope all turns out tonight for you and your house!
Thanks mom! We are good here - took our trees down years ago after a close call. Wow, we had gusts near 70 during sandy and 69 today, damage is extensive... neighbors homes and vehicles, quite the war zone out there. Sadly an 11 year old lost his life when a huge tree split his house in half a few miles from me

Although I could go with the "trained spotter" who reported 13 inches in Monroe, my town, I took 3 measurements an hour ago and came up with 9 inches total.

Just lost power for a minute...but came right back on...ooh, and it's early yet!
Mt Holly and TWC now both have 2-3 inches for my neck of the woods over night...some storm! The cold is making late push...we are tied at 9, heading into OT.

Re: March 2nd Nor'easter Update
Well have about 11-12 inches here in Stillwater Nj at 1190 ft altitude , have drifts in my lawn 24 inches, unfortunately with a beautiful snowstorm with high winds comes conséquences , extensive damage in Stillwater , Hardwick, Blairstown area, power went out here at 10 am and I will be shocked if we get power back before Monday ! Trees down all over, cars crushed, houses damaged, I drove around and took lots of pictures which I will post later if my phone lets me , really reminds me of Sandy with the downed trees, I liked getting a foot of snow but would trade it any day for all my neighbors to be safe, good luck !

Re: March 2nd Nor'easter Update
36 and overcast. Got only 4 inches today. One of the craziest storms I can remember with snowfall totals all over the place. Phonecia in Ulster county reported 20 inches yet Kingston also in Ulster got zero. The winner was Richmondville in Schoharie county who reported 37.5 inches. Crazy.

It seems better than WU Wundermap. Had them both open and Intelicast seemed more detailed. Guess they all have limitations.

Essexcountypete - I know just showing some frustration with this storm and the radar. Seems inteelicast works better for some types of storms and worse for other types of storms.

Amazing work with one of the oddest storms I've ever seen.
I'm hoping there's at least one or two more in your bag of tricks this season.

That blows my mind. Nothing to do with elevation, latitude, dry slots, just weird.

Re: March 2nd Nor'easter Update
that is the only way to describe it..there are little piles of slush on our property...too dark to take pictures...unfortunately.. I saw it when I went out back with the dogs..it's so windy the male would not go out alone and I had to carry the other one and make sure she did not blow away..lol@essexcountypete wrote:@weatherwatchermom wrote:We have wind blown slush..
