Re: Pain in the Butt March 7th Godzilla: Observations
NYC pretty much ground zero on the GEM. Not sure I buy it with temps around 34 and most of the precip during the day but even at half the totals still a good storm for them

Re: Pain in the Butt March 7th Godzilla: Observations
Wow cmc gfs both agree nam 3km rgem all agree on placement and totals but I think NYC needs b increased a lot and surround areas personally. Frank how concerned are u about outages down here? Widespread or sporadic? News is all over about the power even moreso than the snow.

Incredible last minute colder east trends.

Re: Pain in the Butt March 7th Godzilla: Observations
heavy wet snow with some wind and already saturated grounds...I would say widespread

I'm guessing it's not go b 10:1 hence why maps are lower for NYC and surround areas but to hear frank say over performed giddy giggity goo?

Re: Pain in the Butt March 7th Godzilla: Observations
Lee just showed how drastically the wind direction has changed due to the tick east in the track and said it could be enough to keep everyone but the immediate south shore of Suffolk all snow

Re: Pain in the Butt March 7th Godzilla: Observations
I am getting a bit worried. Frank do you think we have a shot at the temps to get to say maybe 29 or 30 degrees at the surface so we maybe get no snow stickage to the trees and power lines?Forecasting the surface temps is a nightmare for this storm.

Timing of this storm is perfect. My office closed already based on the forecast and State of Emergency. So I know I have a full day of uninterrupted tracking/observing ahead. And maybe drinking.

Re: Pain in the Butt March 7th Godzilla: Observations
hence those totals in and around NYC not that far fetched then.aiannone wrote:Lee just showed how drastically the wind direction has changed due to the tick east in the track and said it could be enough to keep everyone but the immediate south shore of Suffolk all snow

Doubtful. Air mass is not cold enough. This is the coldest frame of the NAM

I will. Dear lord please bless me with over a foot of snow and mass power outages so I can watch everyone panick. As long as no ones health is affected

There will never ever be a storm that makes everyone on this forum happy, but that is probably as close as we will' ever get. 90% happiness there, 5% okay with it, 5% annoyed.
