Re: March Madness! Spring Snowstorm Observations Part II
Moderate snow here still. 2.5", not liking the sun angle, but it's decreasing. Need the heavier bands

29 degrees and very consistent rates of 2 inches/hour! Approaching 10" on ground. 1' is almost a certainty at this point and I'm guessing 15" is very possible.

The snow rate in Brooklyn has not let up since it started. I have full confidence the 10-15 will be realized here - at least 5 inches on the ground. Enjoy your "bread and mild".

Re: March Madness! Spring Snowstorm Observations Part II
Wow, you know I admit I complain when I am getting screwed but at least its not condescending. Everyone here pros and the learners are and have done great, this was a "maybe" storm a week ago so anyone getting hit of course is haqppy, those that aren't no one promised snow. Forecasting is not an exat science. Lastly I will reiterate others posts. THIS IS NOT THE WORST PART!!! My tempos have gone down and snow is sticking well to everything for once, waiting to see how much it compacts but the flakes are of moderate size suggesting a less wet snow. Future cast shows early evenin to late night will be insane rates in places and the winds really crank around 9pm. Lets just see where it goes as no one knows for sure IMBY aqmounts or exactly how it will play out. Heck I may still complain later lol but I will try not to, so far its not looking terrible.

Re: March Madness! Spring Snowstorm Observations Part II
I’ll add that the WSW goes until 2 am 12 hours from now. To suggest the storm is a bust 12 hours before it is slated to end seems a bit premature - especially when the snow (at least here) is getting heavier and finally in the past few minutes staring to stick to the roadways.

Longtime lurker but this is just too fun - snow picking up near Clinton NJ, heaviest of the day by far. Temp broke a bit above 32 but stabilizing back down now. Here's too the faithful forecasters being the right ones (you guys have kept my spirits up while the twitter forecasting crowd keeps trying to break them down)!

twitter is full of garbage, honestly anything I read there I pay no attention too other than to laugh, unless its a link to a reliable source. Personally DT and cranky are not reliable.Zhukov1945 wrote:Longtime lurker but this is just too fun - snow picking up near Clinton NJ, heaviest of the day by far. Re: March Madness! Spring Snowstorm Observations Part II
I’d say still in moderate snow here but in past 15-20 minutes has finally started to coat the street. Probably because we’re losing that direct sun angle as the afternoon grows late.

Greenpoint, Brooklyn; just got home and shoveled the deck, about four inches. Snow falling right now is the wet, heavy stuff. Accumulated snow I just shoveled was very light and effortless to move around.

Frank can you post where you saw that, I can't find it online.
Was it a Central Park measurement?
Saw it on Twitter. Not sure if it was "official" reading but I've been seeing many reports.
Bobert2686 wrote:Absolute bust here on south shore of Long Island. Raining. What a waste. Hoping one day some meterologost will know what there talking abut.
I would give it some time.
Also, can we keep these type of posts in the banter thread (not directed at you but everyone). Keep this thread for pure observations. I instructed all the Mods to delete posts and not even to bother moving them.

Do me a favor and do not post his tweets in here anymore. He is clearly trying to push his agenda, aka busted forecast.
