As of 11:51 PM, CPK has had 0.85" of rain from this system. Add that to the 6.72" prior to this system and that sums up to 7.57" this November, the 7th wettest November on record.
The wettest November on record for CPK was in 1972, with 12.41"

There was a forecast for rain showers or a mix midday, it was just a little colder than expected I think. We had sleet on and off at 38° from about 1-3 pm, then a few light rain showers.

Re: Movember
November 2018 is complete. Here are the results for NYC with 1981-2010 anomalies:
Temperature: 44.4: -3.3
Precipitation: 7.62": +3.60"
Snow: 6.4": +6.1"
Warmest temperature reading: 72 (2nd)
Warmest low temperature: 64 (2nd)
Lowest temperature reading: 15 (23rd)
Lowest high temperature: 28 (22nd)
November 2018 was the 7th wettest month on record (the wettest being 12.41" in 1972).
November 2018 was the 4th snowiest month on record (behind 1938 (12.8"), 1882 (14") and 1898 (19")
November 1938 was tied with 1920, 1974, and 1972 with the 40th coldest November on record
With records going back to 1869, this is the 150th November CPK has been keeping weather records.
If we were to use the 1871-1900 averages, November 2018 would actually be 0.8* above normal. The last November to be below the 1871-1900 average of 43.6 was 1996 and the last month to be below the 1871-1900 average was February 2015 (7.1* below that average). As cold as it was this month, it pales in comparison to those late-1800's Novembers.

But kicks ass to those over this century? Late 1800's to early 1900's was a solar minimum which we are heading into so in 20 years from now lets see where this all stands.
Great stats Mike very much appreciate this information and yuor ability to work such numbers here.

Re: Movember
Hi Well came back from the city yesterday to spend time at the Stillwater country home, crazy weather we are having, yesterday walked from my house up to the Appalachian trail and got to the top of the mountain and it was sleeting so hard it hurt ! Had to put on a hat, just went out to the pool house to put wood in the wood stove and it is now sleeting and raining !
Then I look out by the garden and I see a porcupine, this fella has been coming around for many years, he is very calm and a good guy ! Then he does a 360 and shows me his quills on the back side, they are so cute! Amazing the beautiful wildlife we have 1 hour from NYC !
