I truly love the fact how some people can be so electrified about the thought of bitter cold and snow. Makes me smile!

Sorry or last minute notice, I meant to post this over the weekend...
Tonight, Jim Schiavone, a scientist doing research with Rutgers will be visiting Superstorm Sandy with a special look at the wind damage. I saw him speak at a conference and I must say it was quite interesting.

Especially for those along the coast or who live near me on LI, in my signature (see below) where I list my snow totals for the year this year I have decided to choose the same color that I chose at the beginning of the 2014/2015 winter season. As you can clearly see choosing that color led to a very productive winter that year, SOOO if we end up with similar totals I will preemptively say.... Your Welcome.

I used the color partying like a rock star at Quinnipiac that winter. That's a color right?

To bring back 95-96 it’s a color. I’ll call Crayola and make sure it’s thrown in their box

I'm stealing your idea for all the residents of the HV. The good years will be in blue and the bad years in red (no this is not a political statement about Democrats and Republicans I pretty much have had it with both parties)
I also learned my signature reached it's limit and I had to eliminate 2012/13 which was a decent year with 65.3 inches. If I don't see results by Christmas Eve I'm jumping ship.

Hello CP, welcome back. Being an accountant I would have thought you'd favor black and red

Re: Banter Thread 5.0
We went to our son's state playoff football game last night in Latham, NY. It was about 28 at game time; then it started sneaking down and by 9 pm it was enough. You think 28 is not so bad but sitting in it for two hours even with Carhartts on and long johns under your clothes, with thinsulate gloves and a head and face mask and two blankets AND with 14 mph wind...well, I can say it is doable but I must be aging out because man it was cold. I was fairly comfortable but the poor kids just in their football gear-they were really cold! Hot chocolate did help. The moral of the story: dress right, dress warm, and be safe in cold weather.

Re: Banter Thread 5.0
The 0Z ECMWF OP went full on weenie for me here in Albany early next week:
I am in the jackpot region. This gives frozen precip qpf, which under the 10:1 ratio would be 18"+ of snow for me and widedpread Godzilla snow totals for the tri-city region (aka Albany-Troy-Schenectady). This is in still in fantasyland though and knowing me, this will end up shifting 100-150 miles south, giving the rest of the forum a Godzilla snowstorm and me flurries at best.
