And never say never in terms of a 1888 never happening again, in fact some places have had snow exceeding that but just not where it counts like it did in 1888. Look at Sandy, that was a new storm all together, likely a once in a lifetime like 1888 but who knows.

Re: Banter Thread 5.0
I completed my second try for breaking up my kidney stone on Friday and supposedly it was much more effective this time. I really hope so because the next resort is the last resort and the LAST thing I ever want to go through. Very unpleasent and much longer recovery and discomfort. Luckily I have a high tolerance for pain but there is only so much I can take, these things bring you down more than you think. Anyone that has had one for a length of time will understand. It efffects your whole body, lethargic, nausea, weird eating habits including no appetite, and in and out severe pain. But always a nagging pain in your back literally. It downright sucks. No I am not whining but people do not seem to understand how aweful it is. I know a woman who has done natural child birth and had a kidney stone in her ureter (tube from kidney to bladder) and said she would prefer child birth!!

Jman, I hope the treatment Friday was a success. And you don't have to convince me how bad it is, I've always heard the same thing and I hope that I never have to experience it first-hand. I will keep my fingers crossed that Friday's treatment solves the issue and you can start to feel better.

I did my 4th outdoor bbq of met winter this weekend (SROC can we rename your New Year's ribs and not call them BBQ ribs again? j/k your NYE spread- ribs included- looked awesome!).
So, from the Mikey P standpoint (Plenty of Fresh air, sun and beer, just no flowers), I've been able to thread the needle a few times this winter- mild dry conditions AND a day off at the same time. As long as I can bear the temps without a winter coat (Her rule), I head out back to smoke some meat.
When I look out at my back yard, I want to see snow coming down the sky or smoke coming out the Weber(s). Either one makes me feel really calm, for some reason. So, lately (as in the past 22-24 months), it's been exclusively hickory and pecan flavored smoke therapy and no snow therapy.
Anyway, best wishes JMAN. My dad and my brother are both afflicted. I'm lucky as can be that at age 46, nothing. I just hope it's not a "when not if" for me though, based on family history.

We need a barbecue section. I like a little apple and cherry mixed in. Never mesquite. But it all depends on taste. I have a Weber bullet. Picked up a whole brisket from Restaurant Depot yesterday. May barbecue the point cut and make corned beef out of the flat. Or make pastrami out of the point. Not sure yet. If not snow, than the smoke also relaxes me too!

Let’s all barbecue. Maybe the storm will smell the goods and want some. I know it sounds insane, but hey, it’s worth a shot.

Spring will definitely happen quick. With all the rain we've had, everything is ready to sprout the second we have a few days streak of warm weather.

Rooting for a glorious spring in early February is grounds for banishment. You might be a human sacrifice for the good of snow fearing NJ Strong Weather people. Bad energy give you.

A get together has been announced! It will be on Saturday, March 7th. Please follow the link for details. I hope many of you can make it. This would be the time to reflect on what went wrong but to also look ahead at what the summer could bring.

Re: Banter Thread 5.0
Its just gonna be a cold rain for us. 38°F will be the high and low. About an inch of rain with 3 minutes of sleet mixed in. But yeah, about 12 inches of snow up in Maine and a good thumping down South to shut them down. At least the models are not teasing us. Just depressing us with the harsh truth.
