Re: January 2nd-3rd Storm Details / Snow Map
Nows a great time for a big snowstorm before all the daytime heating issues in late feb and march. Very cold airmass coming in.
Usually models tend to trend west within 24 hours but sometimes end up turning out how it shows now. So expect a west trend tonight or tomorrow but dont get too excited yet.

We were in 6-12 inches, not far from the 12-18 belt yesterday. NOW they think 3-5" in NYC. I cannot. It's the most annoying kind of storm in Manhattan. By the time it even sticks, the friggen storm is over!!

So what happened, the 'main' Low is WAY out there and now there's a secondary weaker Low offshore to us?

Northern stream energy is the most important piece of this storm. And now that these runs are getting better sampling of it, we could see changes with the 00z data tonight.

Re: January 2nd-3rd Storm Details / Snow Map
Winter storm watches issues. They have 4-8 which is where most guidance stands. My first call was 5-10, but wouldn't be surprised if I had to make everyone 8-12 by tomorrow afternoon if these trends continue.
