Accuweather still showing gusts for southern westchester specifically Yonkers, at 61mph! I have to check surrounding towns to see if this is a typo because I have seen this before.

Re: January 2nd-3rd Storm Details / Snow Map
My Facebook post to all 5K of my friends who think I'm nuts about the weather lol
"First of all, I warned you all two days ago. You're welcome.
A WINTER STORM WARNING is now in effect for all 5 NYC boroughs & a BLIZZARD WARNING has been issued for Long Island (NYC may be included in the blizzard warning by later tonight if computer models continue on current trend).
Heavier snow will begin late tomorrow afternoon/early evening and pick up quickly in intensity throughout the night. Here's the deal: If you plan on driving tomorrow evening, it is imperative you understand that it will become extremely difficult as winds pick up and blow the snow into white-out conditions. Governor Cuomo has already issued a statement saying he may close the Long Island Expressway and other major arteries in the area tomorrow if the current forecast come to fruition. A blizzard doesn't necessarily mean a huge snow accumulation; it is issued when sustained winds or frequent gusts of 35 mph combining with heavy snow for a period of 3 hours or more, reducing visibilities to 1/4 of a mile or less. In other words, do not drive tomorrow night. Snow will accumulate 8-10 inches with over a foot not out of the question, while winds will gust over 40 mph. Temps will drop to record lows on Friday morning, so the snow will be in very high-ratio form (not dense) making it very difficult to clear from roads/sidewalks as winds continue to blow & drift it. I'll post another update tomorrow before storm really gets going -- feel free to comment with questions if you have any."

Re: January 2nd-3rd Storm Details / Snow Map
What is the timing for the snow to start? I know the brunt of it is early evening Thurs and overnight but TWC does not show any snow before 3:00. Meanwhile, Accu weather shows snow on and off all day. I am just trying to gage my commute home and dress accordingly if I am going to have to clean off my car.

Lighter snow showers expected before late afternoon, then things really get going when sun sets I think. Travel will become very treacherous.

FYI, there's a lot of moisture to work with down south. Radar off Carolina coast is blowing up.
