Maybe they are going to be really extra conservative right now because all eyes are on them?

Of course, they don't want to be remembered as the Met that cried Wolf during superbowl week. As it gets closer if they really do see something they'll say it, but no TV Met is gonna call for it this far out.

Curious to see the 0z Nam tonight. Also the flow will be SW off the ocean for coastal regions, i wonder if that will help enhance the moisture a little bit.

Fox 5 said something maybe Tuesday or Wednesday similar to earlier this week depending on setup, and a possible system this Friday or Saturday before the super bowl.

We have to remember, with the snow already on the ground and the extremely cold ground, not a flake will be wasted so accumulations will be on the higher end.

Latest 0z high-res Nam suggests 1-3in for most. Looks like it will freshen up the snowpack!

EURO is about a coating to an inch for the area. No one should be getting there hopes up for anything more unless you live in NEPA where 2-4 is possible.

NWS has 1 to 2 for me with local 2 to 4, N and W (maybe we do better CP) on this.Apparently they feel the wind will kick up as they have "blowing snow" in the forecast. They are saying now light snow sunday-monday instead of just the snow showers yesterday.Anyway, bitterly cold through next week.

Yes definitely a classic winter, finally. 10F out here with a biting breeze. Ironically I'm used to it now though.

Doc
I need something soon. Those 2 inches on my lawn aren't going to last forever, even in this deep freeze.

Not sure if you can open that but it's NOAA.gov report and forecast for Barrow, Alaska, kind of similar to our forecast for the past week. Although 13 above is probably a heat wave for them, haha!

Yep, was up in Monroe last night and it was strange to see I had more snow on the ground in Mahwah. That never happens.Maybe this bitterly cold, dry air is keeping the storms to our south and east?
LOL, at this rate, I should be moving to Long Island instead of Monroe to see more snow than Mahwah!

I was browsing the Alaska map on NWS and saw that for the most part, we are colder than they are right now! Guess they lost all their cold air down here.

Thank's Radz. I know there was a stretch of 16 straight days below freezing in Jan.-Feb. 1961.They were mentioning Monday may go above freezing in the city.
16 days will be hard to beat.

agree doc, but if we get past Monday we could be looking at a 10 day stretch at least - not too shabby, love the ice on the Hudson!
