Godzilla Preliminary Snow Map 2/8/13

This is preliminary. I do not see a final map showing higher amounts, but I can see myself lessening amounts tomorrow. But we will see what happens tonight.

Frank, why dont you think a Winter Storm watch is posted for Ocean County? i think its kinda wierd since the storm meets criteria range..

Back up to 6-10" yesterday they backed off going with a general 4-10"

hey guys i just posted in the other thread. did anyone see the 12z nam. hr42 1.5 liquid all snow? 15inches? in 6 hrs. am i seeing right?

I saw that too - that is crazy - reminds me of the set up for the blizzard of 1983 where we had insane rates like this - maybe the rpm (clown map) is onto something??

Frank I cannot see the map - is it the same as the one you posted yeaterday that is at the top of the page? Or are there adjustments?

Models are showing snow coming into our NNJ area by about 4-5AM - does this look true? Last night it was looking like 1AM? have a co-worker who commutes from Sussex Co and is worried about getting into work here at school tom - that is if we have school

Wow Bloomberg just held a PC he said from little to 4-6 in alot of rain some snow and sleet overnight a little sloppy for commute on Friday but the worst will be from around 7pm and overnight, and again mentioned 4-6

He's an intelligent guy in many subjects, meteorology isn't one of them.

Frank, I actually really like your map but I think LI might be under done. You will rarely here me say this, but i think 2' plus for all of LI is a good possibility. Snowfall rates should be insane.

Frank, the way I see it, the 18Z GFS still shows ~6 inches for NYC and slightly higher for LI as the rain/snow line does not come in until 7 to 10 PM that night. What are your thoughts?
