NY State to build sophisticated warning weather system

Just read an article in my NJWO (New Jersey Weather Observers) monthly newsletter that New York State is going to build this massive early warning detection system based off of Oklahoma's system. Very interesting IMO and exciting as well. It is going to be a mesonet system that transmits data every few minutes of temperatures at different heights and depths, wind speeds , directions, dew points, humidity, soil moisture at various depths, barometric pressures, solar radiation, chemical and radiation monitors as well in case of a terrorist attack and more. This will allow various local, state government officials, school plus more to make decisions at a minutes notice - i.e. cancel an outdoor event, flooding, ice etc.
