Laptop help

Did you check Consumer Reports yet? Also, when my kids needed one we went to Best Buy and talked to the Sales reps... tell them what you need it for, any special software you are going to run on it and they'll help narrow it down for you..... at that point think it's just personal preference. I have heard good things of Lenovo and Asus... good luck and let us know what you get!

I have used HP, Dell and have a surface tablet. I am most likely going with dell once again when i purchase a new laptop over the summer before school. Never had a issue over the few i have owned and that have been in the family. My older brother uses Dell also, and swears by them. Another idea is the Surface. Not sure how the Pro 3 is at replacing a laptop as a whole, but if they improve on the screen size and a better keyboard that could be a option as well for you as you can get a I5 and I7 if you really need the performance. Its really up to what your looking for as a whole and of course how much you are budgeting.

I did not. I'm thinking about waiting until spring when newer models come out and Windows 10 is out. I'm in no rush. I was told Lenovo and Asus as well.

Lenovo, Asus and Toshiba make all good laptop - make sure you get one with 6-8 GB of ram with the capabilities of expanding teh RAM - that is what is important for your computer - I have a guy who I work with that services them on the side for dirt cheap 5 minutes from where I live - I mean like $50 to cleanup virus's and malware and clean out registries etc. Keep it in mind - Zoo and well Frank at work you will have some one their to help out with this - get to know and be good to the 3 most important folks - secretaries, I.T. folks and of course your boss but maintenance guys as well.
