I dont know if its in the right thread (sorry Frank if it is)
Petition the Government fund a new model to replace the Global Forecasting System.

This model should have equal or higher resolution than the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF or EURO) model and Have higher computing power and resources available than the EMCMF for increased forecast accuracy.

The National Weather Surface also shall Set up more observation stations across the US to support the information need of this new model for increased observations for model runs.

This new model shall also use the 4DVAR data assimilator, the same used on the EURO and Canadian model.

This new model should also Run 4 times a day, And be out to 240 hours.

This new model shall make the US regain Weather Forecasting superiority over Europe and The United Kingdom.
PEOPLE POST THIS TO ALL THE WEATHER BOARDS YOU ARE ON PLEASE!
Everyone sign it.........And Frank idk if you can post it to you FB page, might as well try to get the most votes we can..... cheers

Sign it and see were it goes. You know we need a improved model. The NWS budget is 2 billion, less than .01 of each penny you pay to goverment for taxes. A small increase for a few years while it is developed is not much. Budget cuts need to be made elsewhere....

GREAT POST FOR ALL TO READ
Craig Allen On-Air Inc
Some sun in western NJ. Heavy snowshowers now in HV east of NYS Thruway. Off and on wet snow in CT and LI. Flurries in the City. Spotty rain and wet snow in coastal NJ. Oh brother. And it's far from over. Still very good indicators of a 1-4" snowfall for tonight ion many areas. Even 6" or so north & east suburbs IF all materializes. We see how well that worked out so far.

Never thought I'd say this but NWS could save million$ by scrapping the useless nam & gfs models and their younger siblings sref, nmm and arw. What in the world has happened to their even mediocre reliability? I'd be happy to use euro, ggem then rgem, and uk, suny mm5 in that order from this point on.
