Re: 3/20 Spring Snowstorm Observations / Final Call Snow Map
I feel like my snow map will verify quite nicely, likely on the higher end in many spots outside of NYC/other city centers.

Re: 3/20 Spring Snowstorm Observations / Final Call Snow Map
Moderate to heavy snow here on Nassau/Queens border on LI since 1:00. Just now starting to whiten the dirt/grassy areas. Everything else wet. Early dismissal. Next report from home!!

Beginning to stick to cars/rooftops/grass more. Now all we need is pavement stickage and it's a snowstorm.

Re: 3/20 Spring Snowstorm Observations / Final Call Snow Map
Western edge of the precipitation shield is really breaking apart as it's leaving the mountains. Don't expect a lot of snow after this initial surge of WAA snows.

Radar usually backbuilds and fills in as it reaches the coast and feels the extra moisture from the ocean!!!

I'm quite surprised that you folks in the LHV are having sticking issues. It stuck to everything right away here, and with the CAD signature this thing had I thought for sure it would be for you too, a the cold air from the mid-Hudson Valley oozed southward.
There was a pretty impressive ageostrophic component to the winds near the surface....

Re: 3/20 Spring Snowstorm Observations / Final Call Snow Map
Quick question before I leave to go home. In the radar Frank posted it looks like ALL of northern Jersey should be sitting under 1 to 2" per hour rates. I know some of you are under that and it looks to be heading right at me. Can anyone verify the snowfall intensity?

Re: 3/20 Spring Snowstorm Observations / Final Call Snow Map
Snowing very heavy now, under a heavy band, but hard to say the rate/hr since it just started sticking.... eyeballing it if it keeps up we would definitely be at about 1.5" per hour

33* moderate to heavy snow. Sidewalks now coated, starting to cover untreated side roads/parking lots. Main roads a little slushy in spots.

No lol State College is three hours west-southwest of me lol That's in the Allegheny Mountains, where they had steady moderate snow. The best forcing was south of me lmao

Re: 3/20 Spring Snowstorm Observations / Final Call Snow Map
Heavy snow here now just sticking to grassy surface, deck and not cars nor pavement yet. This would have been a god storm if it hit tonight or 2 weeks ago with all that cold air. Wasting good snow rates to melting here on roads.
Janet did you give my weather station the Italian horns? It is saying my temp is 64* and snowing moderately.
