All this talk about Hurricane Matthew is overlooking one thing: I haven't seen the sun since early Wednesday morning. It may be a couple of days before I see it again...

had a high of 74 * with clear skies .i am guessing we are going back to a boring weather pattern with long dry days with hit and miss showers when will this change

Look for clouds and showers much of today and early tomorrow morning. Not a washout, but will be a little dreary

Hardly any rain here in Bergen County again, south Jersey and LI in the jackpot zone again...

Been rainging lightly since 1pm here and still going.

Effects from Matt seem similar to Hermine around these parts due to distance from low. Light rain now and breeze finally kicking up from the north. Just to the south looks to be getting into the edge of the "core" of the rain meanwhile most of the rest of us are just getting a taste, or scrape of it. Not exactly worth the huge long track and it trolled most of the country just parallelling basically the entire southeast coast before making short landfall in SC before moving quickly back over water and now its near Hatteras moving slowly ENE out to sea. IMO it doesnt look like it will loop but we will see.

Matthews rain moved a lot further north than forecasted the heaviest already crep into souther jersey. Dc get drenched.

Even still, NNJ is shut out. All that rain in SNJ and LI and all I got so far is .12"

Approaching an 1.00 inch here since yesterday currently 57° feels nice

SOUTH AND EAST!! Steady rain here out on LI since 6pm last night. .71" here breezy cold. feels like fall

Wildwood has recorded over 2" since yesterday....wind and areal flood advisories down there.

The radar looked good yesterday evening for a bust in a good way for the area. The models were trending slightly further north with the heaviest precip. What also helped is the direction that Matthew is going. Instead of looping around, it's going ene off of hatteras. Combine this with the cold front enhancing the precip, you have a nice little rain event.
