5th Annual NJ Strong Get Together - Come Grab A Drink!

Hello Members!

I am planning our next get together to be on Saturday, November 5th at 6:00pm in NYC. We'll have it at Mustang Harry's - a place near Penn and has great food and nice atmosphere. By then I expect my Winter Outlook to be released so the bulk of the discussion will be around what this upcoming winter could possibly bring us.

You can ask for the NJ Strong Weather forum party when you arrive. Please post in this thread if you can make it so I can get an accurate head count. Please try to RSVP by October 31st!

arrrr. we will be away start of our fall break....one of these times the dates will match...can't wait to hear the outlook...

Ahh man, thats the one weekend I will be away. Not for bad reasons going on a mini vacation for 3 days. I guess I will have to catch you guys at another time. If something changes I will let you know, but it would likely be before the 31st. Bust as of now I'm near sure its a no for me.

The question is: Will this hold? The planned events from June 12th and July 24th went by the wayside due to special circumstances. I should be able to go unless something comes up. I would hope some new faces come along. Frank, Janet, and I are the only ones that have been at all four meet-ups.

One suggestion Frank: Try to get a meetup in early January because that seems to be when we have the best chance of a high turnout. The meetup on 1/10/15 was by far my favorite one is it featured the highest attendance. 10 forum members plus Jman's wife.

I still would like to do a spur of the moment meet up when a possible Godzilla could hit our area. Timing needs to fall on a week though!

I am a strong "maybe." I know, pretty wishy-washy. I did have something planned that weekend, but may be able to reconfigure my schedule. And I do also still like the idea of an impromptu pre-snowstorm meet-up.

Me too, it's always good to take some time and just hang out....

Hey everyone I am going to try to make it for that day I have my uncle  70 th surprise birthday party at 4 pm by me .I really want to meet u guys and I am hoping everyone will show up I will try to be there by 630 or 7 .looking forward to be there and hearing our winter forecast

Penn Station, NY. You might run into Frank and I on the train. I jump on in Secaucus, Frank gets on earlier...

Sounds good Chief! Yes, Penn station. The bar is a short walk from Penn

So who's in? Check you calendars, it's next week already! All the great posts about the upcoming pattern change and the Winter Outlooks should make for a fun night! Like Frank said, if you can RSVP by Monday it helps to make the reservation, especially for a Saturday night.

Unless somehing uncexpected pops up, I should be able to make it. Also, the only members who have attended all four meetups (8/14/14, 1/10/15, 6/14/15, and 11/14/15) are me, Frank, and Janet. And the last two scheduled meetups at Mustang Harry's (6/12/16 and 7/24/16) were ultimately called off). The one meetup we had there (1/10/15) was my favorite one with the high turnout along with Frank pointing out that despite the slow start, the 24th was gonna be the day the snow action would begin, and that's exactly what happened. And at the 4th meetup, we were gonna make a stop at Mustang Harry's but it got ultimately got called off in favor of a dessert location at Penn Station and it just so happened to be at a place I usually go to (au bon pain, man their chocolate croissants are delicious). Anyway, I would like it if, unlike last fall, there is talk of snow between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I hope I don't have to relive another December 2015.

If there is one member I would LOVE to meet one day, it would be CPCantMeasureSnow, who hasn't logged in in two weeks (as I mentioned on OTI.) And keep in mind the night this meetup is scheduled is the night we turn the clocks back one hour, which means the model runs will be out an hour earlier.

Unfortunately it looks like I will not be able to make it. There is a slight chance that could change, but not likely enough to justify making a reservation for me, so I guess count me out this time. Hopefully we have an impromptu pre-snowstorm meet-up in the near future.

My winter outlook is complete (finally) and it will be out in the morning around 8am.

In the words of Steve Harvey, "I have to apologize." I will unfortunately be unable to attend this Saturday's meetup in the city. I will be in State College, PA meeting up with an old friend whom I have not seen in years and that night we are set to go the Penn State football game. Who knows, maybe Mustang Harry's has the Big Ten Network so that you can watch the game and maybe (though unlikely) be able to play a game of Where's Waldo and see if you can spot me. I do hope I can make the next one, though I do see things getting busy in the January-February range regarding work. Hopefully, it can work out.
