Hilarious. That’s what I need. Me and my CPenvy are heading up to Orange County. I’m gonna melt the snow as it falls on CP’s property. This way he will never, ever accumulate more than I do again.
On a side note first Math becomes a depressing warmiccist and now he complains about posts in a thread because they’re funny. What’s happened to my boy?

You need to covertly install underground heating elements so if it does snow, it won't stick!

The fact that we're in the dead of winter and Frank hasn't posted anything in nearly a week let's you know how quiet it is regarding snowstorm activity in the East.

Pats and Eagles. One of the most painful Superbowls ever. All I can hope for is a Frankzilla to hit MN and our area that day.

I'll take the Frankzilla for us, F the MN area, who cares. But if it disrupts the fans from getting to the game as was probably your point, so be it.
I may not even watch the Superbowl, but I suppose people we're having over will want to watch so I'll watch by default only.
I have no love for the Eagles but I'll root for them by default. I loathe Coach Bellicose ever since he resigned after 10 minutes as head coach of the Jets.

I probably sound crazy here. But I've gotten so used to seeing the Patriots win the super bowl that I don't want to see anybody else get the glory until it's my team.
Carolina Panthers!
I was more than happy to see them come back on the Falcons last year. I wouldn't mind seeing Eagles fans get their share of misery before looking forward to next season.

Yes, I know its kinda evil, but a Frankzilla to make life miserable for the Eagles and Pats fans who paid big money to see the game. But now I feel bad. Eagles fans have never won it, and Foles was really considered a dead man walking. Bellicose and Brady have their rings and although I am a Giants fan, Jets are #2. Gonna be difficult, but if a gun is held to my head, then hope the Eagles win. Only a Zilla would make me happy though.

when people post 7+ day operational, except for fun viewing, they are just showing their ignorance and limited weather abilities. OP's should only be posted with ensemble support to prove a point. also the big difference with posting warm vs cold/snow is that the warmista's are just trying to get under people's skin, while the other are just excited for snow. big difference!!. if we want this board to be the best out there then we need to be mature, intelligent and courteous. if you like warm in winter post away but do not do it to get others upset. enough already!!

Well said Al.
I have no problem with those who show their posts as to the why the winds are a shifting, not just post a map from 240/360/384 hours out and say it is Gospel and that it will happen with out giving the why. I can understand when we are in the depth of cold that people can't handle it (not hardy peeps IMO) around here (NYC metro region), but the fact is we have such winters before and will have them again. I have been reading up on the Russian scientist who is calling for the start of a LIA (Little Ice Age)by 2030 due to her research on solar and the gravitational effects it has terrestrially speaking. It is very interesting to see her findings and the parallels she draws.
One thing she said is the precursor is tectonic activity around the globe from earthquakes to volcanoes. This has been known for awhile that low solar has such profound effects. She pointed out that this is a feedback loop and that the planetary orbital paths in position to earth have effects on our planet. Time will tell of course but interesting information from her research. You need to have a shot of freezer kept Smirnoff before you read it to put you in teh correct mindset!

Joel Taylor, stormchaser passed away suddenly Monday, he was only 38. I used to watch him and Reed Timmer on Stormchasers on Discovery. So sad, he was the calm one on the team and it's a big loss for the storm chasing community.... RIP Joel....

Re: Wx Banter Thread 2.0
My 10 year old daughter heard about Taylor's passing and made an observation that I thought was insightful for her age. It comes down to sadness that things happen and why do they happen. Smart girl. And now, onto weather banter.
A friend of mine three hours away observed and remarked on what I had noticed this summer. At the bird feeder, birds were eating to beat the band. I put out so much seed, I was shocked. This was way different from other years. And then came the cold weather. So I am beginning to think I am getting screwy, superstitious, adding 2+2 and getting 5. Whatever the reality, this winter I have seen birds that I usually do not see at the feeder. Boatloads of cardinals and bluebirds are examples. If I saw a bluebird or two a season, that was it. Now I see four to six and surprisingly, bluebirds and cardinals are on the feeders together. When the blue jays are there, they dominate. Otherwise they are sharing the same feeders at the same time. Surprising to me to see finches and cardinals together on the perches. Even a palliated woodpecker is showing up with regularity. I thought they only ate insects. My uninformed position: birds sensed cold was coming and bulked up. They have kept coming, more than usual, and my restaurant has caught on among the bird set. And the cold is returning.

Birds, like any creature adapt to different temperatures. If you took a drive down Edgewater New Jersey you would see monk parakeets flying around. No one still knows how they got here. Some people say a truck delivery lost a few, other say some escaped from local store. But you can see their enormous nests that they build next to utility poles, and if you look over head you'll see tropical birds flying around in New Jersey in the middle of winter.
