Agree with Mikey P on the discussion he posted in the weather banter.I hate trading good young prospects for aging "superstars" on the decline.The 1969 team only had Don Clendenon who really came through.The rest was home grown talent including the amazing starting rotation.Cano is washed up IMO.Suck it up and work with the young kids to build their talent and chemistry even though it may mean a few sub par seasons.Sadly, NY Fans have no patience.

Sad news for Mets Fans.I watched him pitch many a game and was cruising in 1969 with my Buddies listening to the almost perfect game he pitched in August 1969 only to be ruined in the 9th inning.Loved when he went to the announcers booth with Gary, Keith and Ron.Tom Terrific is 74, where the frig did time go?

So sad, I met him February 1987. Waited in the freezing cold in heels for 2 hours. Very nice, signing autographs and taking pictures.

I just got back from Port St Lucie. I was there for a week with my friends This was my 1st time ever going to spring training and it was a great experience. I met a lot of players and took a lot of pictures and got autographs.















I was also on TV at the game yesterday

Spring training is great! Great pics. Can't wait for opening day!

Yet again, a nailbiter that should not have been courtesy of Callway's questionable moves. And yet again, they hang on for the W. And oh yes, deGrom was typically excellent! 7 shutout innings, 14 K's, hitting a homer too? Just dominant!

Anyone going to the game today? Great day for a game and some tailgating! I'll be in Lot E by the Grand Central Exit..LGM!

Holy crow, the pitching really SUCKS! De Grom, Syndegaard,Familia.WTF is the pitching coach doing?

The hitting is there for this team but the starting pitching and bullpen besides Diaz has been awful. They really need to sign either Kimbrel or Keuchel or even both.

I.m not so concerned about the relief pitching but the starters.De Grom and Syndegaard are AWFUL and Matz was little league last night.Where's the pitching coach and manager?

If this wasn't so sad it would be funny.Same thing happened when they signed Wright to a huge contract.They better check Syndegaard as well, his last start was pathetic.If De Grom is really bad, kiss the playoffs goodbye, especially with the rest of the pitching so sub par.

LOL, 27 innings scoring 2 runs.Two great pitching efforts by DeGrom and Matz down the toilet.Same hitting team, different year.Sigh!Hope they can get Cespedes back, but his age and physical state is a concern.

Cano needs to sit. His attitude is a cancer. Put JD in, sit Frazier too. Pitching has been good, no hitting.... I think the kids are pressing, knowing they need to score runs. Nimmo isn't as patient at the plate and neither is Alonso. Of course, this is the year I decided to get partial season tickets!

Just read this morning Cespedes broke his ankle so kiss him goodbye...FOR GOOD.Also, another bum I didn't call out in my rant the other day is this general manager Van Wagenner.He brought in creaky old has beens like Cano, Lowrie (who is injured and not playing) and Ramos who has totally screwed up the pitching staff.Swept by the last place Marlins.Disgraceful.

The way the season is unfolding,I am taking one game at a time and enjoying each one if they win.Last night was a great one.Wheeler was excellent and the two rookies,Alonso and Rosario were the heros.LOVED how Rosario blasted out of the box to beat the throw for the win.So unlike Cano dogging it the other night.In almost 60 years of watching baseball, I never saw a game won by a player outrunning a throw to first.

LOL, well I sure appreciate this guy for making the error of errors in the World Series of 1986.The Red Sox had us beat and they were opening champaign bottles in the clubhouse,LOL.I was watching tyhis game and could not believe Buckner booted that can of corn ground ball.

Well, first test of a four game series with one of the best teams in baseball, was a dismal failure, losing 3 out of 4.Mets are a third or fourth place team again.Hope it changes in September, but not getting my hopes up.
