Just measured 2.3 Rockaway, NJ Morris County, Light Snow falling

Dark Geen bands are heavy snow 2" per hour rates incoming!!!

Temps remain pretty marginal out here just south of 78 but things are picking up and accumulating nicely now. Picked up dinner and 31 is a mess. Trees are gorgeous with the heavy wet snow. Toasting bigger things to come!

33* moderate snow. Everything covered. Maybe an inch here so far.

pushing 4".  Very heavy rates.  close to 2"/hr.  

25 dbz snow intensity throughout much of NJ. I'm seeing pockets of 30 dbz (yellow) in central NJ.

0z Nam has great frontogenesis around midnight for the NYC area. Maybe some thunder?

I hope those heavy rates in nj come up this way it was supposed to be by now should I be concerned?

The money ball in DE is moving north.  Oh man.  That would be 2+/hr. Exhausted as I am will be staying up and hoping for the best.

This sounding is comparable to the Nov storm insane rate's and snow growth

2" in Butler. Rt 23 in background. Kinnelon/west Milford line

If that can make it up into this area that will be awesome, it does appear this may be slower than expected no? I still just have a coating on paved surfaces really not accumulating.

Last time my school closed I was already on my way when they had just called a delay, really annoying, had turn around and go back. Not everyone lives 5 min away.

Jman that is ridiculous are you serious? They turned you around? Egg on their face to put people in that situation. These superintendents get paid to only sit on their butts all waiting to see what other districts do

I do not live super close, there was a delay, it was bad so I left a little early as traffic was bad halfway I get a txt ok we are closed.....

I lived in Manhattan for a year. It can rain in Manhattan while surrounding areas have snow. That's the urban heat island at work.

I think he means it's snowing but not sticking to the pavement. Even at 32 it's tough to stick on the warm pavement.
