I think we are practically neighbors, Frank. I am in the section of Parsippany with a Morris Plains mailing address. Welcome to the neighborhood!Frank_Wx wrote:essexcountypete wrote:Frank_Wx wrote:https://www.njweather.org/maps/nj-statewide-radar-1-hour-loop

Frank will those heavy bands move in here? Surprised roads just wet yet it's coming down pretty good clip. I'm in that nws likely 6+ hoping true. 34 here maybe that's the issue. Only dropped 3 degrees since early morning. Got let out at 1200 cuz only one kid showed up for school lol. Pointless to have us come in.

Sanchize06, yes, a day late and a dollar short!
This is a weird looking storm configuration,a NW to SE axis of snow.Half of Jersey is getting nothing ATM and LI as well.A very small area of heavy snow.Don't see this lasting to midnight as NWS says.Hope I'm wrong.
Heavy snow, 32 degrees.Piling up now at this 2inch plus rate an hour.

Re: December 1st-2nd Winter Storm Observations
Been snowing beautifully since about 10:30 here, just enjoying whatever we get this early in the season. Oh and I'll take this nice early dismissal from school (cherry on top)!
Poor Jman hates his job, lol. There's got to be at least one post on every page about him either being screwed by a storm not performing or his school district not canceling school for the day. I feel for ya J. It's like a soap opera, you have me on the edge of my seat with what's gonna happen next.

Not really sticking in yonkers and looks like snow is rotating out. I hope we get at least nws 2 to 4. But models see something else.

Moderate snow in Hopatcong, looks like about 4 inches now. Anything else from here is gravy...off from work, got some beer in the fridge, it's all good.

Re: December 1st-2nd Winter Storm Observations
no I love my job not every aspect but I hate it when they call us in for no reason. Yeah technically I guess that's banter I'll keep it there from now on in future. Btw where is wsw for southern coast and NYC. You would think models would have nws reconsider.Irish wrote:Been snowing beautifully since about 10:30 here, just enjoying whatever we get this early in the season. Re: December 1st-2nd Winter Storm Observations
Looking at the radar Frank provided it appears the heaviest stuff in Northern NJ is just to my east in the Morris county region. I'm right on the Western fringe of that.
My question-- will the precip shield continue to expand west as the storm intensifies and pulls north?
