Using Islip as a reference point look at pages 28, 35, and 56. 100 year 2 hr rainfall, 100 year 3 hr rainfall and 100 year 24 hr rainfall.

I heard that Facebook was "out" amongst the younger crowd. Lol. But it isn't going anywhere because us older folks, age is relative of course, still use it with pride. Also my email is still an aol acct. people have laughed at me for that. Sorry I know this post doesn't really belong here.Quietace wrote:It's pretty much what we use these days. Atleast kids my age. Re: August 2014 Observations / Discussions Thread
Looks like we see some heat today and tomorrow - may hit 90* and we may some more of that 90* weather for Sunday with the possibility of t-storms Sunday night for the last "official" summer weekend.
Notice the cut off as you move towards the coast going from 90 to 80's to upper 70's right on the beach - talk about a onshore more like at shore gradient!

Re: August 2014 Observations / Discussions Thread
Reached 92* today. 6th or 7th time for me personally.
So looks like a warm Sept to end what was a mostly pleasant summer?
Probably not much 90s but plenty of 80s

88 as doc said in Mahwah. And it's still summer in my eyes and solstice until the 22nd of September. September is way to crazy of a month to bring up "meteorological fall" bs, lol

Chilly this morning 56. Hard to believe that next week will be one of the hottest weeks if not the hottest week of the year. Thank God for yesterday and today, got to keep the air conditioning off and will tonight. Gotta save some money before next week, because it will be cranked up.

Doc - 80's to maybe 90 and humidity Sunday through next week- looks to be above average for the first two weeks in September from the Euro - just in time for school!!
All I have to say is this has been a great summer weather wise for the cool nights and gorgeous low humidity and sunny days - one of the best in the last 5 years.

Next week is going to be a soup bowl. I have family that lives in Jacksonville FL and I also lived there for a few years with them. Our temps next week will be an exact mirror image of theirs LOL. I don't mind the heat the only part that bothers me is the electric bill in my apartment. At least during the winter, they pay for heat. And you're right from the last 5 years. 09 was a top 5 cool summer recorded.

Hey, Mugs, sorry you guys will be sweating starting the new schoolyear.Brings back memories of grade school and high school in the 50's and 60's in ancient buildings without AC.Not fun at all.
Yes, a great summer weatherwise.Rapidly heading into fall now, days getting shorter.

All of a sudden we are cloudy at 77* here with a sprinkle just a few minutes ago.
The double HH's return next wee- yuck and it looks to be an unsettled period as well with the chance of showers/rain a few days too.

Glad it clouded over, it was getting quite warm and muggy earlier and I'm enjoying the cooler day...but then again, if I was at the beach I'd be a little upset!
