I'm halfway there.CPcantmeasuresnow wrote:algae888 wrote:2.25 inches here that makes 5 inches for the month I'm above normal for my area and the nice three inch snow pack hoping to add more this coming week. by the way Central Park ended up with .7 inches.
That's insane, but not surprising.
30 year and 145 year average for January in CPK is 7.1 and 7.6. I'm sure you're average is a little higher than that Al. Unless you meant your above average at this point in the month?
For sure, no monster storms this month but so far January is blowing away a dead December. I'll take it in small doses it all counts.
That 0.7 in the Park is nuts.

Guaranteed the Central Park Zookeeper measures low snow amounts on purpose just to piss you guys off. He probably trolls on this sight and does it intentionally. Don't even pay attention.

allright guys this is getting insane now. Central Park had. 07Qpf and measured 1.3 inches of snow. LaGuardia had .06qpf and measured 1.8 inches. Jfk had .03qpf and measured 1.3 inches of snow. what kind of ratios did they have. temps were in the mid twenties so ratio should have been about 10 to 1. what's remarkable is that the other day Tuesday with very cold temperatures Central Park measured .05qpf and. 5 inches of snow that's a 10 to 1 ratio. I'm really getting pissed off and very confused by what they're doing. how does the National Weather Service let this go on

Al the 1.3 isn't correct a trained spotter on the west side measured 1.9 I'd go with the trained spotter over the zookeeper any day. The 0.5 the other day was 1.2, I was in the city the next morning and measured myself. It's gone on for years and the totals are always low.
Write the e-mail address below and tell them politely that it's been wrong again this year and should be looked into.
When I complained last year, politely mind you, they actually wrote back and said they were aware of it and would correct it and they did get it right the rest of the year. I think they need another reminder.

Anyone else that can, jot them a note, be nice, and lets get the rest of the year right.
